The theme of this year's MET Gala was an homage to the Japanese designer, Rei Kawakubo; known for her avant garde designs and architecturally blown-out silhouettes. And I think Priyanka Chopra KILLED IT with that absolutely stunning Ralph Lauren trench-gown hybrid. It was a perfect homage to the designer's aesthetic and probably one of the best looks in the MET's history.

Please read about Rei Kawakubo... one of her quotes: "My intention is not to make clothes. My head would be too restricted if I only thought about making clothes" Part of her entire line for Comme Des Garcons is to break down structure and what shapes are allowable for fashion... Gigi's terrible cut and paste of two style outfits half half is the most uninteresting interpretation of a new shape and structure. It's about rethinking what clothes mean. There is nothing avant-garde about a big trench coat... a dress on the red carpet... Jesus...

The theme wasn't "Avant-Garde" but "Comme des Garçons by Rei Kawakubo". Totally different. In terms of style technique Gigi was best dressed, in terms of theme respect Rihanna and Anna Cleveland are both the best, Katy Perry being TOTALLY an honorable mention, her dress was amazing, and in terms of beauty Cara Delevingne absolutely ruined every other outfit because she just was unreal. Sorry guys, but it doesn't seem you know a lot about high fashion. Comment if details wanted or explanations.

as a designer I loved Katy Holmes and Zendaya. Really Rhianna? Totally agree about Katy Perry she will never be Madonna. Celine Dion was perfection. All of this is just IMO so design is always relative to the beholder.
