Ms Mitchell is a MARVEL to me. Her singing, all of it, amazes me. She was and IS an intelligent, absolutely phenomenal talent. Some of the best singing I've ever heard is her performance as Liù.

It is so good to hear the stories of this wonderful soprano. Leona Mitchell is such a fine artiste and a great role model for young singers. I knew the story about the Herodiade production because I joined that opera company a year later and a colleague told it to me. It is also wonderful to hear stories about Grace Bumbry who is remembered with such affection .
