In the year 1964 khanak(Konyak) AREA were officially cutoff frm NEFA. NEFA Margherita head quarters administration covered up till 'tuensang district now ' before the year 1964 beyond which were under Kohima. Otherwise no doubt konyak n Wancho are same. N in Konyak n Wancho we have two Major Clan. TANGJEN (TANYAN) N SANGJEN(SANGYAN) along wit Chi (Tee), Mon n Phom.
@MR_TRIPLE_ONE

not extension. konyaks are the separated siblings officially when they joined naga hills administratively from nefa. wancho/konyaks are tang-shang nagas who has more population in tcl aruanachal and have sibling tribes like nocte,tutsa,tangsa,ollo and further more numerous population in burma. konyak is derived from "khu/khao/kha/kho etc)which means head and nyak/nak means black which is what many tangshang people call themselves. khanak sa/khonak sa/khunyak sa/khaonyak sa etc. they are our blood brothers and our ancestral kith and kin. i am from tangsa/nocte tribe and we had brotherly bond with many wancho/konyak village groups in the past who used to frequent our lands on the edge of patkai hill for trade. during olden times many brotherly interior villagers from remote rangpang tribes(hachang,motai,thamkok etc) in burma to wancho/konyak (chop and chang people)region used to stay in our house to trade in ledo-margherita areas as our village was near the inner line area drawn by britishers . my grandfather is no more but i still remember his stories. he claimed he even fathered a child from his second wife who went away to burma from rangpang tribe. rangpang/pangwa is also tangshang tribe as well as wancho and konyak. same people same origin hundreds of similar dialects. administration by outsiders is what divided us and our land between different states and different nation.
@MR_TRIPLE_ONE
@MR_TRIPLE_ONE Жыл бұрын
@@rickywangham 100 percent agreed bro. the same tang and shang origin is there in nocte,ollo and tutsa clan wise. the most tang and shang visiblity is in tangsa tribe though. although mixing happened for centuries. the tribes in myanmar has even further tales of the origin of both the clans and other clans as well since we all migrated from northern myanmar thousand of years back. it is said that many tribes followed the wild boar route in tanai river now in kachin province while migrating in the past. margheita /ledo was our areas but britishers took it from us and drew inner line to differentiate between the fronteir regions. our tract hq was at margherita under british time but now is under assam because of bipin borgohain who cunningly placed many of the plain region of hill tribes under assam .
