std::any does heap allocation tho.. depending on compiler it can be when type is larger than 1 to 3 void*.

What about type erasure? Seems to be missing off your map? Perhaps the std::any option is kind of similar? Type erasure also be implemented with an SBO on the stack if you need more speed.
