Today only the 256GB version comes with a $75 gift card at Best Buy. For that price, I'd say get the 256GB version. Otherwise, the 128GB is great! (check links in the description)

The meta quest 3s is the first vr headset I ever owned. It was $300 when I purchased it. For someone who was on the fence when it came to vr, the price sold me on giving it a try. Im very happy with my purchase and now i realize I enjoy vr, and in a year or two, I will spend more on a decent vr headset. So basically I wouldn't have purchased a vr headset at all if it were only a $500 variant but at $300 I was willing to try.

I feel that! It's a great way to test the waters. And it's still a very good headset!

@@AndroidDigest Ah man, it's not even close. I just went back to look to when I first subscribed to you and you've been killing it for a minute. My first comment on your videos was on the Google Pixel 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S20 - My Pixel 4 Impressions in 2020. It was, "I usually don't sub to tech channels. I generally just look around for whatever I need when I want a tech video but I was flabbergasted to see that you only gave 4k subs for the quality of video that I just watched. Liked and subbed and looking forward to watching your channel grow." As someone who works in social media and marketing, it's been really cool to see you grow over time.

@@staple_gun6367 thanks so much. If you check my Twitter I'm trying to redo my lighting in studio, my backdrop, and add vlogging in. This video was before I redid the lighting and backdrop. Trying to massively improve while still keeping things easy. Appreciate all the love 🤣. This video may not pop off because it's not my normal thing. Plus KZbin punishes you a little if you don't upload every week

I got the quest 3 last week and fell in love instantly. The only problem is i let my small kids try it, and they're begging for one. I was thinking about picking uo 2 quest 3S's for them, but at ages 8 and 9, I'm a bit concerned from a health and safety perspective. I think I'll hold off on letting them use VR for a couple of more years. It's such an amazing experience.
@AndroidDigest16 сағат бұрын
You're on the right track. When you do get it set up, I would look up how to set it up on KZbin for kids. They have parental controls.. and you can lock every app including the browser and require them to send any app they download to you. So maybe you put a few safe games on and say no more for awhile. Only issue I found: let's say you want to buy them a game that you want to use too. The only way to do that is for your account to be the MAIN account on their quest 2 or 3s. Then you turn on the app sharing in the settings and make them a secondary account. BUT if you set it up this way it will require you to log in your account and then switch to their account if they want to play. They make the main account log in after a restart. Not bad I guess if you want to keep an eye on them. And it's a good way to make sure you buy all the genes in your account and share them with them. But annoying. So yeah. At least you can lock everything and have to approve apps but it's complicated. May want to find a parental controls video

@@AndroidDigestThank you kindly. Do you think they'll be able to see out of it given the smaller sweet spot? They can see fine out of the regular quest 3, but I'm not sure if that will translate over to the 3s.

I will say that with any VR headset, it easily takes a week or so to adjust. Even with the metaquest 3, I was getting some headaches the first week or two. I had to adjust some settings and slowly work my way into it

If your having trouble with the 3 presets of the Quest 3s, you can actually slide the preset to an "in-between setting where you can see half of both numbers and the position will still hold In-place. I find I'm best at an in-between 1 & 2 setting

Great review! I think I might look into the used market for a Meta Quest 3. The headphone jack is actually pretty important for me as I’m particular about the sound.
@AndroidDigestАй бұрын
That's EXACTLY what I did. After using the Quest 3s I just realized how invested I was and I bought the 3 used on Facebook. Easier to set it aside every once in awhile for $325 when it comes with an elite battery strap and charging case. There's some deals to be had out there

Is it worth changing to 3S from Valve index? Index's resolution is lower and my right knuckle controller is broken and costs half of the 3S.
@AndroidDigestАй бұрын
Here's my take, for what it's worth. There are definitely some pros and cons. I know I'm not the typical VR enthusiast, but I just can't stand to always be plugged into the PC with a wire. And it's not the way I like to play. VR. The fact that you can get like 2 and 1/2 hours of battery life, and you can also use a cheap head strap replacement that comes with a battery pack, you could play wirelessly for hours and hours on here. That may mean you have to buy a few games that you already purchased. Either that, or you just always plug in a wire to play the games you already bought.. Yes, you can do it wirelessly, playing pc vr games, but you have to have a pretty good internet connection for that and it can degrade a little bit of the experience. So these are just some outside considerations, when you're thinking about playing your PC VR games. That's just something you have to keep in mind. And I will say the valve had a little bit of a higher refresh rate. But outside of that, yes, I would say the 3s is better headset. And you can play pcvr, but you can also play all the quest games. You only have to pay $300, you get Batman for free, if you buy it during the holiday season and use a referral, you get $60 in credit. And if you're desperate, even for the 256 GB version, I know some companies are offering a gift card right now if you purchase that specific version. Even if it's only like $30. So I definitely think it's a good way to go. Your biggest consideration will be, should I go all the way up to the Quest 3 now, or should I go for the 3s. If your budget is tight, you can always get a 3s, enjoy it, and sell it on Facebook for like 200 bucks down the line when you get the money to upgrade. But if you can afford it, the Quest 3 doesn't have this small sweet spot, and it's it's a little bit more enjoyable as far as the resolution and everything. So I would say it just depends. But I would definitely recommend picking up one of them
@plsdont5688Ай бұрын
@@AndroidDigest Thank you for answering!!! I'd really want to just to feel that wireless experience without breaking a buck so I think of buying a 3S and while I haven't used a headset with pancake lenses I don't think that small sweet spot should be a huge problem, or even, immersion breaking... I have a strong 5G connection as well that should be enough for streaming PCVR games.
@AndroidDigestАй бұрын
I'd say it's a good start, and your worse case scenario is selling it for $200 or $150 down the line, after getting months and months out of it. So it's a good decision I think

If he's never tried VR I'm sure he will. Just remember there's a way to set up parental controls on his account. There's a lot of games on VR that have full chat rooms and stuff like that. There's also ways you can set it up where they are required to "ask" for permission to download some things, or you can "lock" access to certain things and require a pin code. A lot of ways to protect the kiddos. Feel free to search for parental controls on the quest on KZbin if you're ever curious. I never covered it but I know there's a lot of things there to help

Buy the regular Quest 3 with upgrade strap and external battery as well as some paid decent games on it and you'll be continue using the device. I highly believe those who stop using Quest headset because they didn't really spend money on some decent games because I have a Quest 2 for 3 years and it still remain one of my most used gaming device and I have Nintendo Switch and gaming PC
