Yeah. So many players are capable of reaching a high level in later released smash games and other fighting games, but not in melee. Both the mental and physical requirements are more difficult for melee than virtually all others. With speed comes not only strong physical(tech) skill but also the necessity to think incredibly fast. The addition of the ledge makes melee more complex than virtually all fighting games by itself.

PPMD TALKING ABOUT LEFFEN'S EXHUDING ENERGY IS THE EXACT THING THAT DREW ME TO LEFF/PPMD AND MELEE AT ONCE. IT IS A PALPABLE DESIRE TO WIN AND TO PROVE HIMSELF (HE PROVED HIMSELF SO THAT PART IS GONE) AND HE JUST WEARS HIS HEART ON HIS SLEEVE WHILE HE PLAYS. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED SOMETHING LIKE THAT AFTER PLAYING COMPETITIVE TEAM GAMES FOR 5 YEARS OR SO. IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH MELEE WITH LEFFEN/PPMD BEING MY TWO INSPIRATIONS, PPMD MOST OF ALL. PPMD MADE ME BELIEVE THAT I COULD DO WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND IT WOULD ONLY TAKE PRACTICE, TIME, FOCUS, DEDICATION, AND THE ABILITY TO REALLY PUT MY ALL INTO IT. LEFFEN MADE ME FEEL LIKE I COULD BE CONFIDENT AND NOT GIVE A FUCK WHAT PEOPLE THINK SO LONG AS I'M DOING WHAT I BELIEVE IN AND NEVER GIVING UP OR LETTING UP FOR A SECOND. I LOVE MELEE.
