Metagross: Unite move creates a wall that can easily be escaped with any dash or eject button Umbreon: regular move creats a zone that can't be escaped by ANY move or item (except full heal if you get the timing just right) seems legit

With the shields and knockups, I feel like Metagross really should have been classified as a defender. After all, it has the highest Defense of all the Pseudo Legendary Pokemon

I've also been reading other comments that say people don't ever build Metagross defensively in the mainline games, he's always built for offense. So I guess All-Rounder does fit it better in that regard. Speaking of Pseudo Legendaries that are in the wrong class though... Dragapult totally should have been a Speedster. (I mean come on, 142 base Speed?!) Even the fact that it has a ranged attack doesn't matter, since Dragonite is an All-Rounder with one

Yeah, well Absol is a "Speedster" and has a quite bad base speed of 75. So i think its pretty safe to assume that base stats from the main game series are not an absolute deciding factor in what role a pokemon is going to have. Thematically, while there are definitely arguments for why either role would fit Metagross, I do wish they would have made it a Defender as its kit in unite specifically does seem more defensive-oriented and there are a lot more Allrounders than Defenders already, which will be even more skewed towards Allrounders once Metagross and Gyarados are gonna be released. Once Gyarados is out, there will be 18 allrounders in the game, which will actually tie them with Attackers for the most represented role in Unite. But Attackers can kinda be split into Mages and ADCs while allrounders are all sort of bruisery, so I feel like at this point maybe we don't need more Allrounders for a while. And I say that as someone who mainly plays Allrounders, but I digress. Although im not gonna complain about Gyarados since it is my favorite pokemon, but that is just me being biased.

I think it's that metagross is popular but they know people don't pick defended or support so they chose a popular class so it's more likely they buy skins.

How do you expect people to pick defenders when 99% of the time the teammates don't even USE the defender's HELP. Having to use a defender/supporter and not have anyone to fight for you when you engage a winning fight is beyond infuriating. I've had to drop playing those roles altogether in solo-q because of this. Far too many people are cowards or stupid and let me die when I'm tanking 4 other enemies at ray for so long and instead of being where they were literal moments ago I see on the map that all 4 went after a backcapper and are still struggling to even kill them. Then they all die at ray pit because I'm dead :)

I feel like with metagross you could just fill the rest of your team with huge aoe unites so you'll always have someone to combo with, for example, meowscarada, any eevee, zacian, elde, venu, blastoise, etc.

I’m super excited for Metagross. I’m still gonna be using Magnet Rise as it at least gives Gross some kind of self peel. Something I noticed that wasn’t mentioned is how you can combine the follow up attack from magnet rise and the one from meteor mash for huge burst damage. Did not know that the healing from mash was Max HP based so cookie or weakness makes sense. I personally will go guard, weakness, and weight. Gross feels like another Mon who would kill to have a fourth item slot, but I think trying to get the best of both worlds with Hp and attack would be best. Didn’t know that gross had potentially 50% tenacity* via its passive that’s soo cool. I lowkey might just use potion since I’m scaling my Hp, already have a good amount of tenacity, damage reduction via magnet rise/zen headbut, and shields/healing through the other moves. I more so like meteor mash because of the separate healing and shield affects but I’m sure gyro ball will be up way more often

A team centered around Metagross's Unite move would be interesting. I imagine Aroura veil A9, Gravity clef, Rollout wiggly or crustle, and that 4th slot is pretty open, one could go T-tar, gardevoir, snorlax, chande, blastoise, umbreon, lapras, there's a lot of options with this theoretical comp

Glaceon ult is going to be CRACKED with Metagross ult since it has to stay in the diamond. Crustle is going to rain crits on everyone in that pit in a dual tank setup. Comfey attached and ulted with Metagross is set to create the ultimate tank. Garchomp can actually go crazy in the pit since it's already slightly difficult to control his ult over long distances.

It’s a shame they don’t acknowledge and effectively reward defensive and supportive behaviours like giving out a Goal Blockers badges based on your blocked goals percentage which is drastically overlooked as a worthwhile quantifiable contribution Or even a Conditions caster badge based condition casted percentage etc. If the weight of their abilities isn’t acknowledged official post games and throughout trainers achievements ribbons then ultimately no one will care

Iron Defense is seriously one of the best level 1 moves in the game. Beldum can solo basically any character, I often pick up early double kills while invading.

Metagross unite move team comp: Metagross, obviously. Clefable supporter for gravity in the unite move. Delphox for unite move in the unite move. Ttar to jump in and sand tomb. Umbreon for stealing sheilds and mean look. Alternatives: Gardevoir for unite move, Garchomp/Dnite for melee shreds, A9 for aurora veil in the unite move, Pikachu for all of its aoe, and finally Azu for water pulse +.

Spragels, why do you think the devs haven’t added loadouts that you can apply to your Pokémon so that you don’t have to struggle to remember builds you’ve ran in the past and can have them all easily available in the pre game lobby? I sometimes forgo trying new builds so that I don’t mess up the one I already have and forget about it. I’ve already found multiple cool metagross builds and I think it would be cool to save them between matches.

Metagross Unite plus Cram Unite would be insane. You'd have all the Pokemon grouped together so the Arrokuda/Pikachu's would bounce to each opponent easily and the wall adds another layer of defense to keep enemy Pokemon off of Cram so it can get the entirety of its unite out. Decidueye unite could also be decent for the same reason

I think Cookie, Guard, and Policy will be my ideal build. Unless an Umbreon jumps in, you are going to have so much shielding. Could even go a step further and swap Policy for Buddy.

I actually think his unite would be good with Flame Sweep (talonflames Unite), mostly because after you flame sweep your enemies can't really leave this small area, so not you can easily go in, and Talon has a natural dash out move too

I think pink and yellow emblems are underrated, but seeing the emblem loadout for pink physical attack or yellow physical attack is disappointing. The prospects for both sets on physical attack Pokemon are abysmal; you have to sacrifice health or attack for a full build, and a lot of times you have to sacrifice both, but for special attack Pokemon, you can usually get +200 HP and at least +5 special attack with ease. There are also no yellow/brown or pink/brown emblems (or yellow/green or pink/green emblems for that matter), so you can only get a max of 2 brown or green emblems on these builds. Yes there are much worse sets (like navy and gray), however, pink and yellow feel like they are just being held back by a lack of stat prospects rather than an awful color bonus or an inability to make a "full build" (navy and gray can only reach their second-tier bonuses of 2% increased unite charge and -6 damage taken respectively).

Metagross needs a lvl 8 evolution at bare minimum. It doesn't threaten most Pokémon enough for it to warrant such a late evo. If they plan on buffing it then lvl 9 makes sense though.

Seems cool. Though I feel you should go back a couple pokemon to blazikin and try the energy amplifier on it. It has a cool down but that's expected and from what I see you have 50% of the time where you're boosted and for it being a 21% that's huge I haven't seen anyone running it and idk why

so we got leafeon who had a ability similar to xayah from league of legends we had dragapult which is basicly twitch and akshan combined from league of legends we got meowscarrada who has fiddlesticks ultimate and zed's w from league of legends we had azumaril whos aqua tail is basicly aatrox q we had urshifu wicked blow which is sett's w we have slowbro's ultimate which is malzahar's ultimate and now we get darius q on metagross huh.... dunno if i missed something but suuuurely they are making original abilities right :)? I think Metagross should be really slow, but really strong in attack and defenses. Like a giant titan that can not be in evry fight cause is always in late.
