I lived in Metairie about 10 years ago, when I lived there I remember I wanted to move to a big city, now I live in the Northeast near Philadelphia and I miss LA quite a lot. Thanks for the nice footage, it's so nostalgic to me. ^-^

I lived in New Orleans for 19 years, much of that Midtown near Mandina's. A couple of years back I moved back to my home town, Easton PA. Other than the chow and the architectural charm of some areas, I don't miss that place at all. Metairie's clean and well-kept, but devoid of ANY form of _human_ character whatsoever. It's like living inside a Chick-Fil-A.

Nice video! I gave up living 16 yrs in California and moved to Metairie 7 yrs now. Definitely not moving back to CA. I just visit CA last week for a wedding. Every time I come back to CA to visit I and my wife has so many negatives in our mind driving around town. How wreckless modded cars drive, how polluted it is, how it looks more like a desert compared to LA and TX.

What would you say is the difference between Metairie and Kenner? I wanna move to one of them
@TheMusicvideoVEVO6 жыл бұрын
well they are both nice. i have spent a lot of time in both metairie and kenner but sadly never really lived in kenner, and only lived in metairie for like 3 months. Metairie and Kenner are kinda the same, so it just depends what you want. Kenner is just farther away from everything except the airport. Also if you live in kenner or metairie, try to get a place north of airline drive cuz everything south of that can be kinda depressing and industrial. Both are pretty safe, kenner surprisingly is even more diverse than metairie. Huge spanish population there, lots of spanish speaking stores and restaurants, and yeah. Sorry im just rambling haha. Also I dont know where you are working, but if you work in new orleans, keep in mind commuting from kenner or even some parts of metairie may be annoying since its pretty far from the city... if you have any questions about anything else, let me know!
@Life-in-South-LA5046 жыл бұрын
Kenner pretty similar but more strictly enforced and better school there. To me Metairie and Kenner by far the safest area to live in for the past 7 yrs living here that has the lowest crimes report. I mainly work in the Westbank and downtime NO.
@macknation51896 жыл бұрын
Person From Louisiana would you consider living in New Orleans with a wife and 3 kids? And would Kenner and Metairie be considered the surburbs?
@Life-in-South-LA5046 жыл бұрын
I work and drives around town a lot for the past 7yrs. I recommend living on the Lake Pontchartrain lake side of Veterans Blvd and ends at City Park. I would say Metairie are much better than Kenner safer neighboorhood and less strict. Kenner is like the law enforcement hometown, driving around Kenner you'll see many law enforcement cars at home at a few blocks and a lot more cops spawning in Kenner area. I live in New Orleans Lakeview area first 4yrs good neighborhood, but crappy road and over price old shifted houses. The most crime and peoples get kills and gunpoint rob daily are Gentilly, Algiers, French Quarter and Uptown is a must avoided area.
@macknation51896 жыл бұрын

I did a travel assignment in Louisiana back in 2010. I was there during Marci Grass season and My company house me in a big beautiful home in Metairie close to one of its hotels, don’t remember which one but I think it was the Wyndom, anyway I remember taking afternoon walks around the neighborhood and it was so idyllic. Big stately homes brightly decorated and kids Playing outside in their front yards and they would greet me as I would pass by, it was certainly another world, quite different from living in Los Angeles. Consider yourself lucky if you live in Metairie!
