I was very impressed with Lil Wayne's ability to mix words and yet keep it very comprehensive.

Cory gunz is an artist lil Wayne signed he actually never took off. As for lil Wayne he has been relevant since 1998 and mega star after 2002, and remained extremely popular until around 2014. Currently having issues with his label and not able to sell music

Hip hop Legendzz wayne about to cop that $56 mill from bridman for the album, court ordered.. So wayne will be dead soon lol
@Mikebytheway97
@Mikebytheway97 6 жыл бұрын
TypicallyTypical 54 million not 56, and he didn’t beat the case yet. The court has given Birdman 60 days to show receipts for everything he has done with money earned from Drake’s views and Drake’s more life, wayne hasn’t seen a penny from either album, Drake is supposed to get 50% and lil Wayne 24% and Birdman 26% drake earned 100m last year meaning lil Wayne should have got 24, Birdman 26, and Birdman kept Wayne’s share. He also owes 10 m for the advance for c5 and an additional 17m in unpaid royalties: wherever you got your information from is wrong, check the court documents

I think he's STILL extremely popular, unless you're asking little kids. He's more known for controversy than music nowadays.
@Mikebytheway97
@Mikebytheway97 6 жыл бұрын
Remy Mafia he is popular in the sense that if you ask 100 random people from ages 12-40 if they have heard of lil wayne or know who he is, I'm sure 95 will at least have heard of him. But I don't think he is "extremely popular" for what someone of his talent should be popular for. I think he is this generations most talented rapper, with the most impact, only kanye can be in the conversation of influence and impact with wayne and it still probably goes to wayne, dreads, tattoos, the clothes. But ask the same 100 people if they like lil wayne they over half will say no even though 5 years ago when he didn't have legal issues and was steadily releasing music most would say yes. Lil wayne will go down as one of the greatest to ever touch a microphone and not just rap, in general. But unfortunately we live in a time where the cool thing to do is hop on bandwagons and not have your own opinion and everyone bashes legends in rap, like Jay z and nas, and even 2 pac now. I agree he's popular but not from people who listened to dedication 6

Lil Wayne is one of the best at saying nothing. He is a great clever, witty punchline rapper who chooses not to focus on messages or stories. However rare, when he does focus on a message he is good at that too. As you can see, there are many different types of rappers. Enjoy!
@myname8635
@myname8635 6 жыл бұрын
Wayne doesn't tell a lot of stories but there are a lot of consistent messages throughout his music most of the time they're in the wordplay though and not the main focus of the song

Nia R. Wayne has been rapping for 20 years. When you reach a certain point, you lose content to rap about. He’s rapped about everything. Eminem doesn’t have substance anymore either. It happens to everyone. Don’t downplay the GOAT.

It is good to see you recognize how talented lil wayne is. He does not get the respect he deserves anymore. He was one of the biggest rappers back in the mid 2000s. He freestyles all of his songs, which means he does not write them. He said that he only wants to leave his music behind when he dies. That way nobody can read his lyrics and interpret them after he dies. Dude is smart as fuck.

This reaction is for everyone who thinks Lil Wayne isnt a good rapper or indifferent, never understood da hate this guy gets, I understand people not liking some of the controversial stuff he does but how u not reconize the guy's talent. This guy whos not really knowledgeable about rap music is listening to the song wit unbias ears & says Wayne is very intelligent wit the way he uses his words. People think if u listen to Lil Wayne its like your not hip hop or u dont understand hip hop but people forget he comes from the classic era of rap from the 90s & has been doing this rap stuff for a long time & u cant compare Wayne to some regular Joe Smo.
@anthonycelestin3559

Why isnt Wayne up there wit the Jay Z's, Eminem's & Nas's. Is it because he got tattoos, uses autotune in his music & drinks lean, who gives a shit bout stuff like dat, guy is talented & should be up there wit da best rappers based on skill alone. I can understand people say Wayne's music isnt for them, I heard people say Eminem is talented & their music isnt for them but I hear so many people say Wayne isnt a good rapper at all which I cant wrap my mind around it, wit all da songs u heard from Wayne u didnt think any of them had high quality, SMFH. Are u a blind hater, do u really believe Wayne sucks as a rapper or u just follow the crowd wit this anti Wayne agenda?

Tupac was a great MC, visionary, lyricist and was way ahead of his time. His top 10 in my humble personal opinion in no particular order are: Changez, letter to my unborn child, brenda's got a baby, dear mama, ambitionz as a rider, keep ya head up, life goes on, staring through my rear view, unconditional love, ghetto gospel. Have fun, you will love them.

Brother you are real. That's why everyone myself included gravitate to u. A new deep artist is NF...REMEMBER THIS... is a great song with deep meaning. Hes as real as it gets. Just went to a show at house o blues in Anaheim. His beats are fabulous his lyrics cut deep. He doesn't cuss at all in his raps and I get just as hyped listening to him as let's say hit em up by 2pac. WARM UP...KNOW...STATEMENT...LIE...MANSION...brother there are so many more. I really hope u get this recommendation. I dont have Instagram or Twitter. U may be the guy to finally check those platforms out. But I know u will love this kid. He from Michigan. His mom overdosed on pills and he had to take care of his sister. Hes real af. Oh yes...REAL...is another amazing song. Hes got a lil singer in him too. Sorry for the novel. I'm right here with you. 35 years old, listening to this for the first time. I've listened to metal (death metal) pretty much my whole adult life, but always appreciated quality songs regardless of the genre. Eminem opened up rap for me 18 years ago, but only because of him being a singing comedian along with having genius lyrics. This is a bit harder to appreciate for me, yet good non the less. And regarding me mixing genres as of late: It's not like I've heard all metal that's out there, but there is a craving for something really fresh and well produced rap sort of fills this gap! Keep these reactions coming, I really appreciate your work. Btw, The Slim Shady LP that came before The Marshall Mathers LP is packed with great lyrics and beats. Have a great day!

Wayne is a legend. Considered one of the best. Or at the very least, one of the most prolific. He has put out music in heavy volume and his catalogue is massive. Great simile and metaphor game but that's cuz he's like 15 yrs in this shit. His wordplay def has come with time. Corey Gunz is not a legend lol. But his dad is Peter Gunz who had a couple really big hits in the golden era of hip-hop. Corey is a really skilled dude who just never made it. Had a buzz about 5 years ago but has since disappeared. Hope this helps
