Tip for covering large surfaces with Sharpie, take an air nozzle, hold the sharpie perpendicular to the nozzle and spray through the tip. Pretty easy to control, makes the sharpie like a spray paint.

Nice intro. There was a great point made that not even straight lines on a car are truely straight. James May recently showed that most of the panels on a cyber truck arent even straight and I cant think of many examples even close to that extreme.

Two thibgs, that half of a quarter panel is insanely complex compared to everything else so far, which is just cool to see. Also though youve just burnt me out on Blink-182 for the rest of the year. 16 minutes of Blink-182 in one go is too much Blink-182. Im just glad it was 28 minutes and 13 seconds of blink-182.

I'd a cut those pie sections outa the panel like you did on the template before cutting/roughing the panel out... And getting advice from Runge?!?! That's pretty much cheating! And yeah, that's pretty cool.... Clamp annealing the panel seems like pure genius! Good thing you didn't quit.

Love what you guys are doing and your spirit with the build. Sometimes I wonder why you're not using a file or a portaband to fabricate and instead using stuff that make SPARKS. I guess I answered my own pondering. I think sparks are over rated but your channel is growing great so what do I know? Carry on "wich yer bad 'selves!"
@nickp31733 ай бұрын
I love this channel. I still don't understand why you're doing the entire body out of sheet metal though as opposed to fiber glass or carbon fiber. Won't this make the car much heavier in the end? I would imagine the doors, hood, etc would be metal but the rest would've been easier doing it out of fiber. Is it because you're trying to keep it similar to classic cars?
@clausiusclapeyron78733 ай бұрын
@nickp3173 in addition to being more "authentic" I think it's because it's fun, it's more difficult and also it's not as common. Plenty of reasons to do it if you are able to and as you can see they have the skills to do it

But please, err on the side of caution and give the clamshell two hydraulic struts where each by itself is powerful enough to hold it open. That's a problem some older cars have. Better to prevent that from ever becoming a pain in the ass in the first place.

Music with vocals is really annoying as background music for a video like this… vocals take over and move the focus away from what is actually going on in the video. Skate punk might be the worst kind of background music with vocals for this. Too fast paced and som dude singing about being heartbroken again or life is too short or whatever… You guys are building a car… very slowly. Not that I have anything against the genre in general it just destroys a video like this one. Ryan, in the future, please think about if your choice of music actually fits the content you are making.
