I saw Bowie back in the seventies as a teenager and never did I think that at at my age of 68 I would be brought to tears listening to Life on Mars, seriously Aurora is a special talent,I would go as far as saying one of the best singer songwriters that has emerged in a very long time, she is the essence of what the art of music should be all about ❤️GENIUS

I love David Bowie, he was so different and experimental, a bright beacon in the mass of typical mainstream, which I feel is exactly what Aurora is too. This song though, never was a favorite of mine, but I do love Aurora's performances of it. My favorite is the last one, just her a piano and her bugs. Thanks!

I’m a massive Bowie fan and was still in a kind of mourning state after his passing when I happened upon the 3rd version. Before hearing it I was very pensive about listening to a cover of one of the classics but Aurora left me in pieces on the floor. That was my introduction to her magnificent world. So I thank Bowie for that introduction and I thank Aurora for lifting me up then just like she has done almost every day since. Great art is still alive in the 21st century!

@@8equalsd_ofw Hi I think Blackstar is absolutely magnificent. I rarely listen to it because it is just too hard for me. I ordered the album before I heard the announcement of his death and that first listen was difficult. I don’t think I’ve watched any KZbin videos. I’ve watched all your Aurora reactions, apart from the album one, 3am just wasn’t the right time to invest an hour, and loved them all btw. Haven’t yet dipped my toe into any metal reactions yet. Never heard of most of ‘em Band Maid and Warning are exceptions. Any recommendations for an old punk/Bowie/K Bush/Aurora fan? Love your on screen interaction and chemistry. 💕

The first one from Nidarosdomen (Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway) was the newest one from Nov 2nd 2017. The Howard Stern show was on July 25th 2016, and the last one was on March 2nd 2016 on NRK tv (Norway's public broadcasting channels). I like the NRK one best due to the Fender Rhodes piano and her voice is best in this one I think, but the others are also great. I can definitely hear some strain in her voice in the Howard Stern performance, specially on the first "Is there life on Mars?". 2016 was a super busy year for her with 200-210 performances and she was sick several times during it.

My favorite is third one (with this piano sound and cool vibe), but all are very cool. And yes second one is like a faster version with less pausing. If we are around covers she has of course more covers too but I would recommend "Teardrop" cover in "Like the version" (I love this cover and this version). Have a nice day! Ps. She is (not secret ;) ) bug lover - there was a funny interview with her after the performance for Nobel Prize Concert when she talk about it (and then it was said multiple times in other interviews) :). She collected some dead bugs including moths :).

Well, Nidarosdomen is the cathedral of Trondheim, Norway (Nidaros is the old name of Trondheim). You chose the video from the Portal AURORA Brazil, hence the Brazilian Portuguese subtitles. You can find videos of the songs of this concert without these subtitles in others channels, in exemple this one but there are others: 20171102 - AURORA - Nidarosdomen - 12/12 Life on Mars ? (cover): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZfMY4NjgKZml7c Each version of this cover is a bit different from the others, she's just in the moment. As usual, right? What a pleasure! Thanks for all that, for this long video reaction to this tremendous and very special artist. It makes this night way much... sunnier, should I say...🙃👍

It was great to see all three of these performances in one reaction. Interestingly, the performance at Nidarosdomen was later than the other two (it was in 2017 and the Howard Stern Show and NRK versions were both from 2016). You should definitely watch (or react to) the entire concert at Nidarosdomen as it is probably one of the best musical performances ever filmed and the pinnacle of Aurora’s early career. This is the link to the best version with English subtitles (for everything other than the songs, which is important) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYGbn4Khlr1orbc The Howard Stern show was done during her North American tour in 2016 and she was already getting sick at this point but still sang an amazing, emotional version of Bowie’s song. And the cockroaches you spotted on the Fender Rhodes piano during the NRK (Norwegian Television) performance are definitely part of her insect collection (especially dead moths), and one reactor termed them her “emotional support insects”😊.

Thanks for the link! We can't wait to do more of her! Anything and everything! We love sharing the moments with all her fans! We are also so excited to see where she goes! Her sister makes all her outfits. Someone in the comments mentioned her cover of Massive Attack's "Teardrop", and while it is great, the original with Elizabeth Fraser of The Cocteau Twins, just makes me fly back to 1985 when I bought "Treasure" by The Cocteau Twins on vinyl at Tower Records when I was 15. Which I still own. Elizabeth Fraser's voice is otherworldly. Please look into them. Although most of her lyrics are just unique sounds, her cover of Tim Buckley's (Jeff Buckley's father) "Song to the Siren" with This Mortal Coil is just gorgeous. It's a big circle because she was dating Jeff Buckley when he died and wrote Teardrop for him, but had covered his dad's song. Check out "Song to the Siren" or any Cocteau Twins.

The church is Nidaros Cathedral (Norwegian: Nidarosdomen / Nidaros Domkirke) is a Church of Norway cathedral located in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. It is built over the burial site of King Olav II (c. 995-1030, reigned 1015-1028), who became the patron saint of the nation, and is the traditional location for the consecration of new kings of Norway. It was built over a 230-year period, from 1070 to 1300 when it was substantially completed.

Awesome idea to react to all three versions, and I even like the order you chose. I would rank them, in order, 4, 4.5 and 5, using your scale. I feel like the Howard Stern version is the most intense, while the last version is the most beautiful. And I do love her performing it by herself. She loves to play with the flow and dynamics of a song, when she's performing solo, whereas with the others, she's dependent on the keyboard player. I believe those were roaches on the piano (yes, she collects dead bugs), but speaking of The Beatles, you should really check out her cover of "Across the Universe" performed live for Triple J. I think it might be her best cover (though all of them are very good to great).

If you want to react to more covers, you can stay with Aurora for a long time. She has done ~30 covers and most of them live, here are some of the highlights: The Beatles - Across The Universe (channel triplej) Massive Attack - Teardrop (channel triplej) Harry Styles - Golden Oasis - Half The World Away Nature Boy (in Nidarosdomen) Walking In The Air (in Nidarosdomen - from a UK Christmas cartoon The Snowman) These next 4 she did at the NRK P3 radio station, where they let artist choose from a list, when they arrive at the studio, so not prepared from home, only limited time to come up with a cover and rehearse it, with Rasputin she wrote in the comments they rehearsed for ~15min. Boney M - Rasputin Imagine Dragons - Believer Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (April 2014 when Aurora was 17, only 2months after being "discovered")

Once we heard it, I was like "AURORA WOULD SOUND SO GOOD COVERING THIS" and went to an AI voice changer thing to make a fake cover of her, then I went to get the KZbin link for the OG song, and saw Aurora's performance of it as the second listing. You guys are so awesome🤘 My head when you said you were going to react to all three🤯🤯🤯 The whole concert at Nidarosdomen is a must watch😍 It was sent on tv in Norway at Christmas 2017, and it was the most beautiful concert I’ve ever seen😍 You pronounced it quite well, but with an American R😉 Her sister made the dress (she’s a clothing designer), but I’m pretty sure that Aurora knew what she wanted👍 I love all performances, but the last one is probably my favourite❤️🦋 She did a cover of “Believer” by Imagine Dragons, have you heard it? If not, could you please react to it? It was a challenge. When she arrived at the radio station (P3), she got a list to pick a song from. She chose “Believer” only because she loves dragons, she had never heard of either the band or the song before😅❤️ She had one hour to rehearse before singing it live🤯
