Metal Detecting Abandoned House in the Woods. The Piano was Left Behind!

Metal detecting around an abandoned house in the woods, somewhere in Virginia. I found a piano, and well as some other interesting items with my metal detector.

A little heads up JD; pianos are a notorious place to stash change. My brother and I found 6.28 in one. We were tearing down a similiar cabin in Illinois,way back in the woods.All 1910s and 20s. We've been finding change in them ever since. Excellent video. Hope to see more.

Everyone of those old bottles can be sold on eBay. Collectors love vintage soda bottles. Just because it's a glass bottle, do not overlook the value it has.

Hi Greg, cool stories behind the finds like always. My Grandmother always had Chiclets gum in her pocket book . That brought back wonderful memories for me. The mystery item: I thought maybe a piece of a car’s inside door handle? I saw some other comments about toy pedal cars.. definitely could of been as well. Thanks for the video. Cool vid. I guess the silver will stay there lol They must have had a little $. People couldn't waste money on soda much in the 40s and 50s. The button was probably made during ww2. Brass and copper was used in the war of course. Just my take. Love to see more residential detecting for coins, especially the shiny ones😊 Thanks for the vid J.D.!

That piano is actually a pump organ -- possibly manufactured by Estey? The holes above the keyboard used to hold stops (little knobs that change the tone of the organ) Edit: After doing some research, it's an organ made by Weaver Organ & Piano Co., circa 1900. There might be a serial number or patent number on that piano? If there is you might get a date to when it was made? I think it might be a Hammond B3 organ.

I hunted my cousin's property that has post civil war house that's in slightly better condition. Unfortunately it too had way too much trash to dig through. found some nice farm implements out in the field. I also found an old diving watch probably from the 80's pretty random, but that's what makes it fun.

Man what a gorgeous old log home. Makes me sad to see it in ruins, can only imagine the joys and the sorrows experienced in that house which I think was from the late 1700's to 1970's ish. I don't know why I just didn't figure you to be a dog person lol Cute dog though, I take mine metal detecting as often as possible, That old spot could hold heps old treasures, but you would literally have to go through it on your hands and knees with a small hand rack and shovel, Just wondering, Why the Black and white? not that it detracts from the video in any way, it's hardly noticeable.
