Hey mike! Welk signaal gaf die helm? Voor als ik ga zoeken in de Ardennen dat ik zeker niet vergeet zulke signalen op te graven. Ik gebruik de Garrett Ace 400i

Hey Mike, I would love to see a video that would showcase some of the items you have found after you've cleaned them up. That helmet is awesome and I can't wait to see it once you've cleaned it. Would you maybe consider doing an update video on some of your finds? Also, I love the new intro!

Great content, Mike! The cartridge showed 2:30 into the video is a Remington Arms 7,62x63mm (30-06) M2 armor penetrating cartridge, distinguished by the black tip. Considering the AP capability it was most likely used in a machine gun such as the Browning M1919 or maybe even a BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle)

Mike, about the ammo, it is safe especially if you get a bullet puller and remove the projectile. I couldn't tell you about the legality of selling them from your end, but we find them for sale over here in the States. if the time is taken to clean them and they aren't damaged you might get a few hundred bucks for a thousand of them. they have a steel core. as for the grenades, ohhhh do not handle them please. when they are new you pull the pin, release the lever as you throw and a little firing pin is unsprung to hit a primer. the primer isn't what makes it boom. below the primer is a probably thin metal tube. in it are 2 chemicals and when the tube is broken the chemicals mix and in 3 to 5 seconds it explodes the grenade. SO as old as they are they don't need the primer from the pin. if the tube of chemicals is about to fall apart then dropping it might set it off. or not but its not safe like the bullets and 1000 times more deadly. dig dig dig. David yes I saw the glass mine parts.
@IronMikeMetaldetecting5 жыл бұрын
yeah perhaps I could get a bullet puller to 'disarm' the rounds. But thing is when I'm out there I just want to cover some grounds and not be working on taking apart rounds. But thanks for the tip, might consider getting one.

5:35 Those were also used on M1 Garand cartridge belts. The one you show at 6:30 is smaller and from a Pistol Belt which had a bunch of eyelets to attach different pieces of gear. If you look them up, you'll see what I mean. Great finds!

Hello from NiagaraFalls New York USA 🇺🇸 My Dad was a Combat Medic Field Surgeon in the 924th Field Artillary 99th Inf. Div. his Buddy Private Joe Carter was captured During the Battle of the Bulge and was forced to work in a Nazi Hospital 🏥 which he Died when said Hospital was bombed by Allied Bombers My Dad had photos of them during training at Camp Maxi Texas 1943-44 and I had a WWII magazine that had on the front cover a picture of US POW’s Marching and Joe was front center in that cover of the magazine But dad missed placed both the picture and my magazine before he past away at age of 91 in 2014 January 4 My Dad also had an Older Brother Killed in Combat at Mount Samat Philippines April 6,1942 he is listed MIA May all Veterans of WWII RIP Amen 🙏

Iron Mike Metaldetecting from 1955 to 1970 my dad worked at NiagaraFalls Air Force Base he worked Civil Service and when my Older Brother got Drafted into Vietnam War the Base Commander made arrangements for my brother to be stationed in Alaska in a Radar Staton 1966-1968 Because my dad’s brother was listed MIA, But on my 9th Birthday Dad brought me to work with him June 1964 and I met a Pilot in the Base Gym and he asked if I was an AirForce Brat and I told him No my dad is Civil Service and the guy asked me if I wanted to go for a ride with him he had to run a mission and I asked him where he was going to take me ? And he said he is the Pilot of an F-101 VooDoo Fighter Jet and he had his ground crew put a flight suit on me and helped me climb the ladder to the rear Navigators seat and strap me in and put a flight helmet and Oxygen mask on and next thing I know up up and away I got my first Airplane ride in that Fighter Jet. Dad also built the shed the Fighter Jets would scraf with 20mm rounds and then blow up with air to ground missiles. My dad also had to go to Aberdeen Proving Grounds to learn how to Pack and ship out the Nuclear War Heads off the Base In 1970 for it was an Active Nike Missile Base since the early 1950’s it is also near Bell AiroSpace where they built P-39 that were sent to Russia during WWII and P-59 First American Jet. Then Easter 1980 I was working at Niagara University on the 8th Floor Of O’Shea Dormitory when there were two big explosions and the building shook big time and my boss’s drove over to the smoke and flames and when they came back they told us an F-101 Fighter Jet crashed and both pilot and navigator had died and were decapicated , that Base had 2 VooDoo Jets and I don’t know if it was the one I got a ride in and if it was the pilot I met, 😭 Also about 20 Miles away at Youngstown NY they used Old Fort Niagara as a prison of War Camp for German and Italian POW’s they had only one Japanese POW, one of the buildings still has the Paintings the POW’s painted there. Many POW’s worked on the Farms in the area and in the Niagara County Court House has tiled in the corners of the foyer that Nazi POW’s places Swazticka’s in the corners and they are still there and that’s in Lockport NY also 20 Miles away from me and from Old Fort Niagara ( the main castle there was built in the late 1600’s by French Soldiers before the American Revolution and the French and Indian War Against England)

Hi Mike. I was watching yours and others vids about finding many condoms amongst the fallen and in dumps that have been dug. I don't believe that they were used exclusively for sex. Condoms were and are still used today to slip over rifle muzzles to keep rain, snow, and dirt from clogging the barrel.. I did it myself till I started using fingers from rubber gloves and a elastic. I didn't know if you knew this, so I thought I'd post it and maybe clear a mystery up. Keep digging my friend, you vids are among the best on u tube. Hank
@IronMikeMetaldetecting4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hank! You are absolutely right. Ex army man myself and know it was used to protect rifle muzzles. Personally didnt use it because we had customized rain-covers. Have never read or seen picture though of soldiers (of either side) during ww2 using condoms on their rifles (the steel ones, not the other ones..). Thanks for your kind words Hank, appreciate it.
