@@rickhill4766 yes I will do. Its very good. And compact. I have a set of rechargeable batteries too so that's not an issue. It's just a shame it doesn't have wireless headphones. Definitely good as a back up or to take on holiday. 😀

Bought my brother the Quest X10 which is an excellent wee machine. Ground balance etc. Finds some deep targets too. Not sure on the X5 but definitely good entry level detectors. The Vanquish seems to do really well and Flint Eastwood would vouch for it (Norfolk Button Boy's buddy). Great video and considered the newbies👏

Something like this from LP is an amazing bit of kit collabs.shop/c1aufc Simple to use and wel respected even with the guys that have been in the hobby for ages. Also the multi frequency will let you detect the beach as well. The vanquish 340 is also a great machines and cheaper .

Agreed..I have worked them both alot now, they're comparable except the v small things the Vanquish has the edge in depth. The real benefits of the Quest are it's low weight (Vanquish is heavy) rainproofedness and incredible battery life. Otherwise Vanquish would win outright price for price, less falsing, less interference, I find I'm shifting f band to stabilise too much on the Quest

Thank you for the comment 😊 the quest is a great machine like you said with all its features and the vanquish with its multi IQ technology like all the more expensive ranges but not quite built as rugged as the rest..

The 340 will hands down win on the beach. Perfectly silent on the wet sand and goes really deep in the sand

Great that there are several machines as options in this price range. Based upon performance the 340 looks like the clear winner here. Will be interesting to see if the 340 can maintain superiority on beaches?

Hey did you ever do a beach test for the x5? Want to purchase a detector for my 11 year old son and his dad to use but we live on the North Wales coastline so will use it at the beach more than anywhere else. Just want to decide if the x5 is the best option for him. Could stretch to the x10 or Vanquish 340 however looks like the quest may be better starter set what with being waterproof etc so maybe more robust for him.

We have taken it on the beach, but because it didn't do very well on the wet sands we couldn't get a video out with it :-( if beach detecting is what you are thinking about, then I would say the best detector would be the vanquish 340 :-) LP do a great starter kit here collabs.shop/cxuhj4
