Mitch is an angel. That’s how he can reach those heavenly notes! And no, they don’t use samples. It’s 100% their voices. They used autotune for the Cher song bc she’s the one who pioneered that effect, so it was a tribute to her. But believe me, they don’t need it!

The black guy wearing a white jacket and blue shirt, named Kevin .. is one extremely talented person ... he's the one making all those drum, cymbals, cello, etc sounds. Of course, the other black guy, named Matt (who replaced AVI who was the original bass singer), sings bass very low and when he sings his own solo, then Scott, the blond hair guy takes over bass (another that has a very wide range of vocals). Kirstin also can sing quite a big range of vocals too. Of course, you've heard Mitch. Listen to Halleluyah and Sound of Silence. Two great classics and see what they do. Yes, they do all their sounds and if they should need an instrument (like a piano or cello), it is included in their videos. The part of the song from Cher has been auto-tuned to pay homage to Cher. Listen to Hallelujah or Bohemian Rhapsody live. They only do on video what they can do on stage. Amazing.

MItch is an amazing mimic and a very strong counter-tenor. This video uses a touch of vocal effects (one of the only times I've seen them do this), mainly on Cher's "Believe," because that song's sound is so iconic. Scott (blond baritone) has a great range and is expert with riffs and runs. Kirstin (mezzo-soprano) has a voice "like a blade" (according to one of the vocal experts who has reviewed them): it cuts right through. Matt (bass) and Kevin (beatboxer - can also sing tenor and play cello) are handling the percussion/bottom so perfectly that many musicians think there must be instruments somewhere.

If you want more dance tracks with mind-blowing effects on bass and beatbox then Daft Punk (another medley) and Love again (an original) are both great. For something really different - Hallelujah, Mad World, Imagine, Sound of Silence are all fantastic covers and there's the original Run to You if you want amazing harmonies :)

I am so glad that you liked this video. It is a great introduction to PTX (Pentatonix). If you wish to continue down the PTX rabbit hole, then I have a few suggestions. Many people have many favorites in many different categories. "Daft Punk", "Dance of the Sugarplum Faries" and "Jolene" are the three songs they won Grammys for. For covers try "Sound of Silence" (Simon and Garfunkle), "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen), and "Imagine" (John Lennon). For original pieces I recommend "Sing", "Happy Now", or "Love Again".

Pentatonix is the most famous acapella group and the best Scott the blonde guy is the baritone ..Mitch Counter Tenor (mustache guy) Kirstin the beautiful lady (mezzo soprano ) Kevin the beatboxer and also a tenor ..Matt the new bass Avi is the original base however he had to part from the group back in 2017 to go back home for personal reasons

They do actually use auto tune in 2 songs here, just for the effect, they're not making that sound, but they never do in any other songs. They are the greatest A Cappella group of all-time, but Home Free is probably the 2nd best group!! I'd check out their cover of "Gold", their original "Cracked", or any of their Evolution Of.... videos, such as The Evolution of Ariana Grande!!! Thank me later, enjoy for now!!
