I’m so glad you watched both. :) The live version definitely shows you how perfect his voice truly is. The video, however, is so beautifully crafted that you’re not only mesmerized by his voice but also by what you are experiencing while watching. The visuals are on point with the songs message and, if you dig deep enough to find meaning, can also be pretty emotional. All around my favorite song and video. Happy to have been a part of your “discovery”. :)

David Draiman....IMO THE best male vocalist out there. Can go from warm baritone to tenor, to clear as an angelic bell to grit/rasp and back on a DIME. What a powerful voice! Awesome talent and amazing voice control! He has been singing for over 25 years or more...knows how to do distortion WITHOUT harming his vocal cords. His voice has a timbre I've never heard before. Loved your commentary and reaction....could tell you appreciated it too.

Loved your reaction. I love this version, too. The thing that blows me away is that he kept that control and produced that power in his voice WHILE SITTING DOWN. Ask any singer how their singing is constrained while seated.

And he had the flu. That's why he was sitting. And he was super pissed that the show producers added a little auto tune to his voice because he never uses it. He doesn't need it, sick or not.

The fascinating fact to metal/ power singers is that most of them are great all around singer on the planet. They really don’t get the recognition they just deserve. With David, he’s classically trained such Floor Jansen, put them into a setting and a song like this one and they’ll slay it. Sick or not sick they can deliver like no one else’s business. Great reaction as i too got chills, again......

I love both versions. I've listened to it and various reactions probably more than 100 times. The video shows the world that music is a vital expression of self and how all the despairing people will be saved by musicians going to them. The live version is just as good but a huge display of Damon's genius and gift. Thanks for doing them back to back.

Hello Bryan.. This is an old reaction of yours and I’ve only just watched both your videos so sorry about that. I loved disturbed cover too but there is another to watch maybe in your own time. A polish major from Gdańsk was attacked on stage during a live charity event and later sadly died. They played the song acapella to thousands of mourners and it’s just as amazing to hear like the other 2 performances...

The orchestra and timpani comes through much stronger in this version. I'm not a drummer fan, sorry, but, the timpani were perfectly tuned to the orchestra and David's voice. super !!!

I love the music video but to me a live performance is more powerful because it's all done with hand gestures and facial expressions whereas an MV is all the distracting artsy pictures. I love artsy pictures but love performers more.

Actually, I like the video version better...it seems like David's vocals were on point and it seemed on Conan, the song was flatter and not as full..this version isn't bad, but I think we were gyped on the vocals... Great Marvel shirt!!! 😂
