Great reaction. As you spotted this was a compilation video with clips from several different concerts (I saw Makuhari Hall, Saitama Super Arena, Wembley Arena in the UK, the Tokyo Dome (that was the one you wanted to know) and the Budokan in Tokyo plus maybe one or two more). The audio was from Wembley Arena in 2016. The Kami Band (in order of solos) that night - Mikio Fujioka (RIP), Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH and Hideki Aoyama, 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance. We must have explained that the third girl, Yuimetal, left the band in 2018 following a 12 month absence because of her health - that is why it is just the two, Su-metal and Moametal, in the pictures etc since then. At live shows from 2019 through 2021 they were supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) who would take turns dancing in the third spot.

@@martinmetal7481 Triangle stage was Makuhari Hall in 2015. It was the 2nd of 3 shows from their Trilogy in Metal Resistance Episode III. I think there are scenes from all 3 shows in this compilation. The 3 locations form a triangle on the map of Japan and the names of the venues have the same initial letters as the names of the girls: Saitama - Su; Makuhari - Moa; Yokohama - Yui. #notacult

@@nichtwitzig i ment to say foxheads but wrote Triangle and was it Makuhari or Yokohama as a question as which one of these rembering right one but crossed wrong one off . If you understand my wandering line of thought 🤣 if you drew a line from all 3 it formed a triangle and wasn't the centre of the triangle the Toyko Dome 🤘🦊🤘 think it is all correct now as what i intended to say 😉

Good reaction, thanks! "Catch me if you can" if on their heavier side but it also has one of their cutest choreos including my favorite move, the infamous "Moa slide" (or as you said on the video: "WTF!" hehe...). This one was my very first BABYMETAL song and it hoked me since the first moment. So it's very special to me. Yeah, compilations are quite confusing sometimes. I prefer to watch an actual live performance from one show just for continuity reasons. Here we have up to 10 concerts: Legend 1999, Legend 1997, Budokan Red Night, Budokan Black Night, World Tour 2014 Apocalypse, New Year Fox Festival 2015, Makuhari Messe 2015, Yokohama 2015, Wembley Arena and Tokyo Dome Red Night.

Congrats on 1k! Can't wait to see the guide. It is fun. Catch Me if you Can is the perfect example of Babymetal's super sweet and heavy meatl smooshed into an awesome song. This is probably my favorite choreo as well. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃‍♀👹 If much of their charm is in the blending of the cute and the brutal, this song is a great example. They performed this song quite a bit in 2017, but not since. The last time I saw this one was in Chula Vista, CA when they were on tour opening for Korn. This one really encapsulated BABYMETAL earlier history. Although there are other songs that do a better job of showing off Su's voice, it's nice to have one that also prominently featured Yui and Moa

Yuimetal is definitely not "optional". She left BM in 2017/18 for unspecified health reasons and has not been replaced by a full new member so BM is currently just Moa and Su. However, Yui remains under contract to Amuse. This is a compilation video, but the audio comes from a live Wembley concert because Ohmura throws in a bit of Herbert Parry's Jerusalem. "Catch Me If You Can" is about a Japanese playground game where the tagger is called the "oni-san" and asks if the kids are ready and Yui and Moa answer "no not yet". Oni are Japanese ogres or trolls that are sometimes used to scare young children into being good. Another interesting cultural reference in the lyrics is to it being dangerous "to go out in red shoes" which refers to a Japanese children's poem where a young girl wearing red shoes is taken away from her parents by foreigners. It was written in the early 20th century and probably expresses fear of the outsider and strangers. Part of what I enjoy about BM is discovering the cultural references...I think they have taught a lot of people a lot about Japan.

Yui-metal was definitely not optional, and was arguably considered the most popular member of the band by a lot of fans. She was with Babymetal from the start up until 2018 when she had to leave the band due to undisclosed medical reasons. From 2018-2019 they filled her spot with back-up dancers, then from 2019 to their hiatus last year they had the Avengers (Riho Sayashi, Momoko Okazaki and Kano Fujihira) who rotated out between songs during shows. Momoko filled the 3rd slot for the last 20 shows. The avengers weren't officially considered band members, which is why only Su-metal and Moa-metal have been used in marketing and promotional material since Yui-metal's departure.

I recently learned about Babymetal. Now I can already say that I adore them (like Depeche Mode in my youth). With this group you just fly away. I don’t even know who for me can compare with their live performances. And given that they had many super performances at such a young age, this is simply unique. Absolutely love this song and the choreography. You may have to be more specific when saying look at that stage! or what stage is that? lol. BABYMETAL has many amazing looking stages. They really go all out on their bigger shows. You didn't even see the stages they used for Legend S in this video. Holy FOX GOD Batman was that one too cool. I think you may need to checkout the BABYMETAL guide soon from CrypticMisery. There is a short and long version. Believe me when I say we would happily sit through the long version with you. 🤘🦊🤘
