The gun one has threads on the output. Does the laminar flow one fit on it?

i honestly hadnt even noticed till just now, was so focused on the small brass one i didnt even look at it. then again i havent even owned these for more than say an hour.

idk, im kinda bored. unless i make a super-laminar flow nozzle or connect these to a high pressure water pump to test then with more pressure.
@mistercohaagen5 жыл бұрын
@@RinoaL What would you need to make that? My first thought would be the find an old bolt or screw that fits into the brass laminar nozzle to block the flow, then drill a smaller hole down the center of that. Maybe a counter-sink drill bit to funnel out the intake a bit. The back pressure on the high pressure pump might cause something to break upstream, but you could try it for the sake of trying to cut stuff with a water jet? Depends on your purpose for having such a thing. You need to have a lot of water volume for it to be effective at a distance. A tiny diameter ultra-high pressure stream is going to turn into a fine disperse mist at a distance as the surface tension of the water beam is overcome by bifurcating impact with air molecules. It's like focusing a laser beam; unless you're able to 5D machine an elaborate venturi collector nozzle, your focal point is basically the output end of your nozzle. It just spreads out from there for the most part. I wonder if any of this could be an analog method to model and develop rocket nozzles.
@RinoaL5 жыл бұрын
im not sure really, sounds like a project to save for until i get a lathe. experiment with making the longest distance nozzle i can.

You are a rockstar! I was just searching on Amazon for a nozzle with a long, powerful stream. The comparative distance test was just what I wanted to see. Many thanks.

I wish, if only all the product reviews were like yours. I was looking for a review on the one with trigger, and there is review of the other two options as well, covering all operating 'parameters' of the product in question. Thank you very much.

On the gun style nozzle that little loop on the top towards the back is for holding the valve back from closing (can't turn off). Then you can turn the little knob to adjust for the spray pattern you want. Then you squeeze the lever all the way in and flip the metal loop back up and out the way and it will turn off as it is designed to when you release the handle. Some people think it's for hanging or whatnot but it for holding the handle from closing to allow a continuous flow until you turn it off.

I've used the adjustable brass style for years and love it. The gun style ones seam to act up when left outside for years.

yeah i can see that being an issue. i wish the brass adjustable one could have more water go through it though.

prefer all metal ends for the hose sprayers. hate the plastic ones. if it is all brass, then that is even better. the brass ones can be buried in the dirt for years and when you find and dig it up they still work just fine. good video. thanks.

i totally didnt even notice that, however the pistol grip one does seem to still limit the flow. but ill give it a go. the last one i had didnt have that 2nd thread. i was so busy just trying to get something to control the water that i didnt look much at the supposedly boring one.

I have a couple plastic pistol grip with multiple spray options but I do prefer the fire nozzle style.. they sell the simple open nozzle in plastic for under $2 in many places, it works great for washing cars and windows

The brass adjustable is my fave because they're so durable... mine freezes in the mud every year and then in the spring, it takes 30 seconds to twist it apart and rinse it out. Like new! Also, I've run over them with no damage. The handle ones are the easiest to deal with when you're washing a car, but like you said they always seem to fall on the handle and they're so delicate (even the metal ones). I miss trolling you, I need to check back in more often. You should wear the motor cycle light helmet while you're building out the shed, that would be awesome.

well they are made from zinc for some reason, very strange.

This is the perfect time to do one of these reviews because its spring time! Time for cleaning! I need to buy a new nozzle for my house so I think I might go with the fire hose style nozzle. I personally like how they turn on and off and it's hard to break them. The nozzle with the handle is easier to break from my experience and sometimes if you drop them just right they jam up so I have to fight to get it unstuck and end up spraying water everywhere.

I use a vintage brass lance with a ball valve. But that set up gets a lil heavy until, I guess I can find a decent discarded plastic one. I also know what you mean by when I chuck the hose aside and you get that bounce off of the handle just gets me in the face every time.

Educational. Had u counted how many seconds each would fill a bucket, that would have been much more useful. Hose should pisitively not restrict flow. Which, also destroys seas, encouraging failure.

I’m not that interested in those weird spray things that you were reviewing but you should make a video about installing that window air-conditioner in your shed thing that would be really interesting and during the summer or you can test a good add 5000-ish BTU unit will work in your shed PS you should install an old style pie dish light fixture on the ceiling of that shed and you should put in incandesce sent 300 W or more bulb in it so that old look because LEDs kind of suck
