I remember i was very young (around 7 or 8) when playing these games, and late at night when i couldn't sleep but that my dad was still watching TV i'd crawl around and make no sound to watch tv, i was very small so when crawling next to the couch you couldn't see me, and i'd watch the nature documentaries he was watching. If he ever found me out he'd just say "just come sit on the couch with me, you're gonna catch a cold staying on the floor". He'd nickname me Solid Snake because i used to sneak around everywhere instead of making my presence known lol. These are such good memories, both my sneaking and playing these games

I remember being 5-6 and playing pretend metal gear and watching my dad play the games. When i got a few years older and actually started playing video games just to "be like dad", i figured out wow it is really fun to sneak around on a tanker and shoot bad guys. Fell in love with the games purely out of the gameplay. Few more years and i started understanding the story and feeling the emotion of the characters. It took me a while, but i found out about the beauty of these games at an early age. In more ways than one, they're a part of my childhood, and a part of me.

Konami's worst move was letting Kojima San go. He made sure that every atom which is MGS was a baby born of perfection. Enjoy the art that Kojima San left behind for our ages. This music is a component of his masterpiece. Special note and nod to Harry Gregson-Williams

@@FruitFlyKilla I think Raiden elevates MGS2 in ways Snake never could, Raiden is an extension of the player going through the S3 plan and conspiracies just like us the players being manipulated by just about everyone in the game (aswell as IRL with the marketing) teaching a valueable and long (20 year eh?) lasting lesson in information control and memetics.

There's something about the Tanker chapter that hits different. I feel so much more effort went into perfecting this stage than the actual Big Shell chapter. I do remember reading that this section was supposed to be longer but they had to cut it due to the size of the disc and time constraints. Hence why we see Snake with a FAMAS in the pantry room defending himself from guards when Raiden speaks about him surviving the Tanker sinking when you can't even get an automatic weapon in this chapter.

Yeah it's a crime that they didnt use multiple dual layer dvd's for MGS2, would have cost them all of 5 bucks more and people would have paid it.

It was peak MGS. The atmosphere, the music, Solid Snake, his entrance and his new look. It felt like an evolution from MGS1. And then you get to Raiden... 😅 Not that I dislike him, but Solid Snake and Otacon unraveling this mystery together stole the show right from the get go.

Don't know exactly, but from what I can hear this OST takes a lot of inspiration from late 90's/early 2000's espionage film OSTs. Try searching up the Goldeneye soundtrack, Die another Day soundtrack, the MI:1 and MI:2 soundtrack and other such big blockbusters from the time for more tracks like this.
