Yeah that's true. God of War was one for sure. I don't know if your into Gears or Dead Rising but #4 for both of those weren't good for example. Mgs5 wasn't the greatest but acceptable. I'm real big into the Kh series right now and really hoping 3 doesn't turn out like ddd jumbled and just all over the place.

My fav part of the mo-cap will always be the facial expressions. Uncanny? Yes. Crazy subtle and emotional in just the right places (Otacon, Snake and BB's closeups in the final cutscenes)? Also yes

for me, which is a long time fans of the series, the cutscenes are one of the best thing about this game, i really don't get people who complain too much cutscene. MGS is famous for it's story, you want less cutscene, go play something else.

My problem with MGS4 was when the game would go to basically a powerpoint presentation in order to explain things that were barely tied into the main plot. That's when things got tiresome and the storytelling became lazy. All of the cutscenes were top notch other than that. I've always thought that Kojima is a better director/game designer than he is a writer and MGS4 kind of proves that. The game has a serious problem discerning between information that the player needs to know and what they don't as well as getting that information across in an efficient manner that's engaging for the player. Point is cutscenes aren't the problem, lazy storytelling is, but at least MGS4 made an effort to tell a story unlike MGS5.

Kah Weng Chok true. I complain sometimes about the length of the cutscenes but I still watch them because I'm a long time MGS Fan. Also the game tells you the whole story from 1 to 3 so it's normally a must that you have played 1 - 3 in order to understand the story on what happend back then, otherwise you'll get confused because you missed them. I'm almost at the end of the game for my first playthrough, because I never had a ps3 back then and now since almost a week a friend of mine borrowed me it and I was extremely happy I got the chance to play the game. What in my opinion annoyed me much was at the beginning. You play there not even a minute ago after the cutscene and you get another one. But otherwise I enjoy playing this game very much so I have no huge complaints about the game

Mgs v reached 80 million, by that time he was only done with 60% of the game so another 50 million would've resulted in complete mgs v product. Mgs v had an income of 250 million in the first 3 days of its release. up till march of 2018 mgs v gathered a whopping 550million at the very least. Mgs 4 would've probably cost them 20-25 million at max since development back at the time wasnt as expensive and as complicated as now

For me, MGS4 is an enhanced iteration of the good things in the 3rd game, with a narrative somewhat akin to the 2nd game, in that old characters and scenarios come back but with a complete overhaul to distinguish them enough of their previous incarnations. Overall, a solid end to the Solid Snake saga (sorry for emphasis)

Actually, the whole "making of" MGS4 has been on youtube since 2008 and in a much better quality than this... This one is just a montage with music, it's not the real documentary. The original "making of" is longer and has also interviews from Kojima and the development team. You might wanna check these channels for the full content: 0xybelis or Jonn MGO. If i remember right the quality is 1080p and some videos have english subs too!
