there the one's who hired him originally, everyone thought it was just Kojima, but no back then they were all on the same page. it's just by the time you get to MGS5, they brought in someone new. but the truth is, they wanted David, but at the time he was not happy about his contract. there were also disagreements with Kojima, there were a whole host of things, but I've always said for years, that Konami will one day come back to their roots.

BUT, If what you say is true, then it ruins the whole experience honestly. This new game has a whole different look and feel to it that it wouldn’t match the quirky energy of the OG voice work.

Some of the original VAs aren't even alive anymore. This may be cheaper, but its also the right choice. I do not like Konami, but don't encourage them to fuck things up. Minimal trust is a much safer policy.

For those in the comments whining about no mention of Kojima... Kojima was an egotistical prick with a celebrity fetish. Plain and simple. Hayter loved the franchise more than the creator even did, and put more on the line just to be involved. He even gave up half his salary for Twin Snakes just to get other VA's back in the studio. Kojima was trying to replace Hayter after MGS2 and force him, and only him, to re-audition for the role every time. He madfe no one else re-audition for their characters or similar, otherwise Otakon's VA would have had to re-audition to play Huey. His fanboys made up excuses that it was for "plot" reasons, like with MGS5, but that's just a poor lie. If that was truly the reason, the Japanese dub would have replaced Snake as well, but they didn't. Same VA. They also would have kept Hayter as Big Boss in Ground Zeroes, but they didn't. Big Boss wasn't much older in GZ than PW, so the same voice should have stayed, but it didn't. I actually loved the performance we did get out of Sutherland, but it was a slap in the face for Hayter to not even get a call about development. Kojima hated Hayter for not being a famous enough celebrity. Plain and simple. Despite their wrongs and mishandlings for a long time with no good excuse, Konami has shown more love and respect to Hayter in the last year alone than Kojima showed him for his entire time with the MGS franchise. Hayter, I'm happy to see you back. Kojima, you're out.
