I always took it that she was going to forgive him. She was under the impression that Snake killed Frank in cold blood, but through being on this mission with Snake, she realized that combat like this is simply kill or be killed. She realized that even though Snake is a trained killer, he can still care about people, even risking everything he has life to save Meryl, including torture.

Finished watching this archive yesterday but only now I found some free time to leave a comment, and I must say, I'm actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this playthrough! Having never experienced any of the games in this series before, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect other than the obvious stuff that literally everyone knows about the series, such as the exclamation marks and the game over screams, but it turns out it's a lot more than a silly action game with comical voice acting! I mean, the voice acting still sounds funny to me for the most part, but that's probably because I haven't played a Japanese game with English voices in... 12 years or so? I'm sure it sounds at least a little less weird to people who are used to EN voice acting, but yeah. The localization also definitely wasn't the best ("Japanese cartoons," really...?), but I've been reading about it a bit and apparently Kojima considers the EN stuff the "official" tone of the series, or something like that, so I guess it is what it is. I was surprised by how memorable some of the characters were, really loved how delightfully cheesy Otacon in particular was lol Now it remains to be seen if you puppies will play the other games in the series, I guess. I might consider playing them by myself, since this was so enjoyable to watch, but ideally I'd rather experience them for the first time with you two, just like this time! Thank you for the fascinating look into this legendary classic, puppies!
