There's more work to be done as I said. Mgs1 was the worst culprit at launch but vastly improved now. It would need to be gotten on the cheap. There's going to be a resolution boost to mgs2 and 3 so I'm covering that when it happens

There's alot to go I agree too. I mentioned here that the fact it's emulated I see no reason why they can't double the res to 640x480 at the very least. This should not effect the aspect ratio if they do this

​@@Heaaapsand just one question I saw that the 1.5.0 update was released for Steam before for PS4 and PS5 and they say that the Analog input was not corrected and then why was it corrected in the PS4 and PS5 versions and possibly in the Xbox Series X/S

@MatheusPower105 it's definitely working here on the ps5 as this is my test footage. Honestly not sure about the steam versions. I read on eurogamer that it was an issue during the launch of the 1.5.0 patch but was quickly addressed on all consoles and pc

@@MatheusPower105 I still have my ps4 and mgs4, i think it would scale beautifully at 4k 60fps. would almost look current gen as Ive seen what emulation has done to it. I really hope it does come out I'm just not fully convinced Konami will do it justice but I hope I'm wrong. its literally in limbo and I think it would sell really well considering it cannot be gotten outside of ps3 hardware. I'm hoping too some new fans will pick up on the series due to this collection and the upcoming mgs3 remake

My issues with MG1 are two things: 1) No native non-stretched widescreen support. This should be super easy and should have been added in on day 1. 2) No internal resolution options to speak of. This should have been even easier to implement because they don't need to worry about a stretched UI or Coms like they would need to when it comes to changing the aspect ratio. As of right now on DuckStation I can get both of those things.

I'd agree that performance, optimization, and configuration like duckstation should be the target for Konami. They have mentioned a resolution change in an upcoming patch let's see what happens

yeah they have a mod for the ultrawide support, but it is very pixelated. I would of loved a remaster of 1 and 2.

I think it's better to add that 4:3 overlay in OBS Studio, to avoid burning the image to your TV, but it is great to have the option natively.

Konami released Part 2 of gameplay overview of MGS Delta and the producer of it Okamura talked a bit about Master Collection that on launch it had tremendous negative feedback and they're still continue to improve it and address all those issues. Now i don't know if they still rolling patches but 1.5 is the latest one over 2 months ago. Will they finally fix it entirely by the time Delta releases? Btw it should be released this year in order to coincide with 2004 OG release since it's 20 years ago. I haven't bought the Collection yet so I'll wait. I do like the idea having all the OG MGS games in one package with improved visuals and modernized controls but calling it Master Collection and having issues is blasphemy.

Please bring the episodes 2 and 3! I already have the Legacy Collection, but also think that it is great to have trophies. Also, MGS1 was not on disc with the PS3 version, neither had MG/MG2 trophies. The best edition of this game would be the PS4 disc, since it includes a PS5 upgrade for free. However, it was released only in Europe. ;(

I’m a huge MGS1 fan. I remember there being a collection for the PS3, that had good reviews, but I don’t have a PS3 lol. And of course, that collection never appeared on the PS4 digital store (from what I know) It’s unfortunate that this collection was released the way it was, which is why I didn’t wanna get it on full price. It seems Steam version is way better then switch version, which is disappointing. Great 👍 mention of having analog controls, cause back in the day, analog controls worked perfectly for the PS1 This video was very informative, but I think I’m still gonna wait a bit longer and get on discount as well. Unless they gave us a 4K update for this - which is almost defnitely not going to happen - they've pretty much fixed MGS1. The best settings to use are smoothing off, pixel perfect, 4:3 aspect ratio and filter off. You can choose a wallpaper if you want but its best to turn it off if you have an OLED panel for obvious reasons. Smoothing makes the game look fugly and blurry whilst the CRT filter is just that - a filter and it doesnt replicate the feel of a CRT set properly. Plus it darkens the image so its pointless to use.

What would you say is the main difference between playing at 50 Hz and 60 Hz?

Way smoother at 60hzs m8. Essentially 60fps vs 50fps. Its a noticeably difference in how snake moves around the game world and carries out actions

It's actually not a real analog. They just mapped the d-pad onto the control stick. The original had an option for full 360 smooth movement. It's not really noticeable until you start needing to do everything perfect on the VR stuff.
