Thanks so much for sticking around since Divided By haha. This is my approach with writing on my own. Once Spee and Andrew are in the mix the songs take on a new life and become Structures tracks

Of course it's important to tune the frequencies and cut the whistle, but the foundation is a good solid and well-played riff...then usually there's no need for too much fine-tuning...when there's a good riff, no one focuses so much on the flaws in the sound. And the last sentence is the most important of the entire video!

Absolutely agree with you on that. you’d have to REALLY mess it up to make a good riff sound bad haha. Thanks for watching !

Thanks so much. It’s funny because I’m using a different amp on these next videos and my approach to the tone is so different. But it worked well with this specific amp and song combo. I love dialing in different amps haha Thanks for checking it out!

Hello! I just discovered your channel and the amount of helpfull information you're providing us with is incredible and I'm insanely thankful for that! Your mixes and songs sound so crazy good. I'm still struggling in creating one big fat metal mix. Have you thought of making a video where you mix a song from the scratch? This would be probably a lifesaver for beginners like me since I'm very interested in the whole process. Keep up the good work and thank you!

Thank you so much! I always love hearing how much I’m helping others! I actually have briefly thought about that. And actually don’t see anyone else doing that so that would actually be a great idea. Maybe I’ll do that with Future video! Thanks for the idea

Man... I've learned a lot from you since you did the Metalcore song in an hour! I'm gonna buy Will Putney's STL Tones soon (trial right now) and now I'm thinking about the Josh Middleton Tone since I have a Jackson 8 String Keep the videos coming!! Need to train my ears more 🤣

@@BrendonKPadjasek Right now just my Jackson JS328Q 8 String, today I just learned how to bus my guitar tracks. Before I kept them separate, and just had EQ and stuff on both tracks 😅 newbie of me, but trial and error. We all learn eventually!

What’s the dif between ProQ and SSL? Couldn’t you use the ProQ and it’s million nodes to dial in whatever you want? I don’t get it 😅
@BrendonKPadjasek
@BrendonKPadjasek 7 ай бұрын
Great question! Pro Q is a sterile eq meant for shaping and cleaning the tone. SSL channel strips have character emulating an actual hardware unit. Also the have compression, gating, and saturation options. Fab filter can’t colour your tone the way an SSL can and SSL won’t let you make infinite eq curves the way FabFilter does. Sometimes I put SSL on only to use the saturation character and not even use the EQ. The compressor when dialled in right just adds “the sauce”

Is the bass guitar in the same octave as the guitar?
@BrendonKPadjasek
@BrendonKPadjasek 8 ай бұрын
It is. I’ve found when you go D and below, the bass gets too indistinguishable to help the mix, so I record in the same octave. We did that when I was recording some of the songs on bass off Northlane’s Alien album. I think it was Jon’s idea and it was as a great idea
@elee2011
@elee2011 8 ай бұрын
I think it would be cool if you can show how you process bass as well. I think it is such an important part of the overall guitar tone.
@BrendonKPadjasek

@elee2011 definitely agree with that. I’ll do that with a future video as I haven’t really touched on bass on this channel

@n00dl3
@n00dl3 21 күн бұрын
I think this comment is saying that the terms you used were vague, which I agree with. Back when I was in college we used very specific terms to refer to different regions of the frequency spectrum because one person's "cake" is another person's "wool" and it leads to misinterpretation. I'll see if I can link the page we used as reference.

Not sure I can link but if you search for "sabetmusictech frequency spectrum" you'll see a red yellow and blue graph.
