Good-ol Metal Slug just like how I remember it: Clipping, Badly compressed textures, invasive tutorials, grinding, interrupting the flow with cutscenes and conversations, inconsistent attacks, 5 second warnings, enemies dissapearing, slow clumsy death animations, puny insignificant slow moving projectyles Perfect! 10/10

Inkinda get why they're doing away with arcade difficulty. I saw a documentary on the Castlevania series I think. There was a home console aimed at arcade players and the devs thought that arcade players will want a harder game, being more skilled from playing in arcades. But since the home console took away the aspect of coins for credit, the game was picked up by the wrong people who viscerally hated the difficulty level, finding it too hard. And so the game bombed. The devs later said they overestimated the target audience's skill. If SNK learned from it, they ran the risk that an arcade difficulty game for home consoles will simply bomb. Hence they did away with the one shot kills.

@@alexk9295- The enemies do attack you. It's just that your character now has a health bar/meter, so it takes multiple hits to kill them, as opposed to just one hit. Also, I'm pretty sure difficulty adjustments can be made in the options menu, to make the game more challenging.

For anyone wondering how Metal Slug ended up like this: SNK went bankrupt in the year 2000 the same year Metal Slug 3 was released. The original Metal Slug team which were former Irem and then Nazca Corp. employees, disolved. Since Metal Slug 3, none of the original team members have worked on a Metal Slug game since. This explains the lack of inovation, the recycled sprites and resources, and the boring/slow level design of Metal Slug 4 and Metal Slug 5, and the uninspired environments of Metal Slug 6 and Metal Slug 7 (XX).

Я посмотрел все видео по Awakening, и заявляю: -Хоть и игра вышла в релиз, но она откровенно сырая во всем. Сыра в графике, анимациях, звуках, моделях. Мне категорически не нравится смотреть на это МЫЛО, а не графику. Серьезно. Брать ту же самую Ди-Кокку, и это пиздец. Звуковое сопровождение.... Ну, тут спорно я бы сказал, но мне не понравилось то, что оригинальные звуки при смерти.. Аэээ.. заменили на стоны? :/ Если раньше было приятно слышать эти мемные звуки смерти того же повстанца, то сейчас - нет. Лично что мне зашло, так это дизайн локаций. Но и тут один жирный минус заключается в графике на уровне картошки даже при максималках Не знаю почему, или у меня так.. Так же, самое обидно за Аллена. Его просто сделали каким-то ребенком, а не суровым мужиком с пулеметом, циркуляркой и базукой на перевес. Оригинальные реплики у него тоже убрали. Раньше, он будто бы побуждал реально с ним сразиться, и он был быстрым словно как пуля, но при увиденной битве с ним... Мне хочется плакать..... Заключение - Игра в целом +-, есть у нее свои плюсы, но за ними стоят гора минусов. В нее можно поиграть в принципе, но только так, на пару вечеров и все. Лучше бы вернули вновь старые-добрые "Metal Slug Defense", "Metal Slug Attack", " Metal Slug Commander". Вот именно благодаря этим уже умершим дрочильням на телефоны и держалась основа фанатов. I've watched all the Awakening videos, and I declare: -Although the game has been released, it is blatantly raw in everything. Raw in graphics, animations, sounds, models. I categorically dislike looking at this WOOD, not the graphics. Seriously. Take the same Di-Cokka, and it's fucked up. Soundtrack.... Well, it's debatable here I'd say, but I didn't like the fact that the original sounds when dying.... Uh, replaced by moans? :/ If it used to be nice to hear those meme sounds of the same rebel dying, now it's not. Personally, what I liked was the design of the locations. But here one fat minus is the graphics at the level of potatoes even at maximum I do not know why, or me so.... Also, the most frustrating thing about Allen. They just made him some kid, not a tough man with a machine gun, a circular saw and a bazooka. They took away his original lines, too. Before, it was like he was encouraged to actually fight him, and he was as fast as a bullet, but when you saw the battle with him.... Makes me want to cry..... Conclusion - The game as a whole +-, it has its pluses, but behind them are a mountain of minuses. You can play it in principle, but only for a couple of evenings and that's it. It would be better to bring back the good old "Metal Slug Defense", "Metal Slug Attack", "Metal Slug Commander". It was thanks to these already dead wankers on the phones and kept the fan base. Maybe I'm wrong, but you know what? I miss them, and I want to dive back into them, not watch soapy PvP shit that was made for money, and which will soon die and close. I apologize for the carelessness of some of the words as I use a translator.
