The writers are Hitman Bang, RM , Suga, Jhope, Pdogg. BTS have a great ability to utilize each ones distinct voices very well which is why in my opinion they sound like no other group. I love the videos. The forever chorus was sung to BTS to surprise them I believe it was at whembly stadium it was so emotional for them. Thanks for another great reaction.

Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarize the story here. The story follows a young boy named Sinclair who had a friend named Demian. Demian acted as Sinclair's mentor during his childhood and transition to adulthood. Sinclair as a young adult experienced series of existential crisis, believing he lived in between the world of light (the world of illusion, full of goodness) and "the dark world" (the real world which was full of lust, temptation, anger and evil world). Demian, and later on Sinclair's another mentor Pistorius, believed that in order to become a full person a human needs to embrace both of their light and dark sides. This will then lead Sinclair to find out about Abraxas, the god of light and darkness. There are sooo many imageries and jawdropping details on the MV that represent details in the book. But the point is this song is about the loss of innocence and temptation, about being a human and embracing both of your good and dark sides. The scene where Jin kissed the statue (which I believe the representation of Abraxas) means he seals the deal with the devil himself in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, full of flaws. The white and black doors represent the world of light and the real world. Suga playing piano represents Pistorius who was an organ player in the story. The phrase that RM read in English here was also taken from the book, page 26 (on the version that I read). It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do." "He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides. The book is heavily influenced by a swiss philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung. One of his pupils was Hermann Hesse's doctor back then. This MV and song are also influenced by a german philosopher Nietzche. There's a quote by him on the wall above the painting that Jin is staring at. It is in German but it means "You must have chaos within you in order to give a birth to a dancing star". Again, the same theme occurs here, about embracing both of your light and dark sides. Only by accepting your flaws and mistakes you can reach your true potentials. Hesse learned a lot about Jung's psychoanalysis and experienced it himself so that was why Demian was heavily influenced by it. What makes it even more interesting, BTS album MOTS 7 is also based on Carl Jung's theory (hence the songs Persona, Shadow, and Ego were born-- these 3 elements are important in Jung's theory Maps of the Soul). BTS are deep, my friends. They talk about real things like the pain of growing up and youth's experience. They literally make a lot of armys become smarter and read on classic literature like this because of them. lol. Welcome to the fandom! (Please note once again that this is all my own interpretation after reading the book, take it with a grain of salt.)

- Oh boy, did you ever stumble into some of the big songs here! 😅 Young Forever means so much to the guys that Jimin even had it tattooed above his elbows. That's also why they totally broke down on stage when ARMY surprised them by singing this song at Wembley stadium. They even used that as the beginning of their new song For Youth. Here's a fancam from that day: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o56uiGujo9h1Y5Y - BS&T is one of those "this one needs an explanation video" mvs ( Blood, Sweat and Tears, what does it all mean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6XPmHSLepusoMk ) but in short it's based on the book Demian by Herman Hesse. Everything - and I mean *eeeverything* - in this video has a deeper meaning: Every piece of art, the quote from the book, even the organ piece by Suga,... Litterally nothing is random. - If you're ever in doubt whether a mv is a part of the storyline, it'll be marked BU content in the video description. 😉 - It's kinda ironic you struggling with Imposter Syndrome since that's been a huge thing for your bias as well. 🥺 (And btw you totally deserve the rising number of KZbin subscribers; you're freakin awesome! 🤘💜)

Reacting to a live Young Forever would be awesome as all BTS live performances are but please watch the Wembley concert where ARMYs surprise BTS by singing it to them too. It’s one of the most beautiful moments to hear thousands of people from all over the world sing in Korean to our guys that it brought tears to them. The song itself is very special for ARMY. We will be Young Forever with BTS.

Since I am here early, let me tell my story- BTS saved my life. Just like so many others.....My individual story isn't really important because so many suffer in their own way. BTS lyrics spoke to me one night in my fog and I found hope. Then I found out I was not the only one. I think that is the power...Knowing you are not alone. Knowing there are others feeling the same way. We may all look perfect on the outside, but BTS sings about what is inside. That is what captured me, and changed my life.

Statue in the back of Blood Sweat and Tears is David slaying Goliath. The painting in the beginning is the Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Breugel the Elder. This song is so amazing on a psychological level. More on it at a later time. I will only say that RM was reading Daemian by Herrmann Hesse.

Ah, the immortal words - "What?! ...What?... What!...What?!!" That is, I think, the standard response to watch Blood, Sweat, and Tears for the first time. And it is a song with multiple layers of meaning. RM has even said that it often surprises them, the meanings people find in their songs. Even if it's not a meaning they intended, it doesn't make that new meaning any less valid; because it is a meaning personal to the individual, based on their life experiences. If anything it speaks to the power, and depth of the songs, and their writing. That their music can touch so many people, in so many different ways. It is the magic and beauty of BTS.And why so many people love them. Why so many are drawn to them.💜

Yeah suga kind of talked about it in this song young forever but he said the contrast of performing in front of thousands of people the vibe, everyone cheering for him, the adrenaline it felt almost euphoric but then after the concert, they would immediately go back to their hotel room and sometimes they would drink but it is a stark contrast. Staying in the silence hotel felt the most lonely for them after everyone cheering for them in concert. And BTS talked about this topic before and the fear of losing everything like the lyrics "The big round of applause can't be mine forever" and in other songs and interview they also feel fear of becoming bigger because they know fame is not forever and it is not that they don't want more fame but it is also the fear and like RM said in their festa: the fear of disappointing everyone and the fear of losing everything. And I can somewhat understand them but at the same time, I couldn't because of the obvious different circumstances
@ZariDV
@ZariDV 2 жыл бұрын
The human body ideally prefers to be in balance. Euphoria is too much of an extreme emotion for the body to sustain it consistently for a long time. Eventually it has to reset to normal, neutral feelings but that would feel like an extreme drop. I can imagine how much that would feel like an emotional crash to go from the high of being adored by tens of thousands of people face to face and then going home alone with no one but yourself and coming down from that high of adrenaline and happy hormones. The constant seesaw of emotions has got to be gruelling long term. It's no wonder they get anxious thinking of the day where they lose it all and may have to live with that loneliness all the time.

Blood sweat and tears is based on the book called Damien by Herman Hesse..... There's a explanation video of this I recommend you to watch that.... It also has some bu references, but I'm not gonna talk about that part.... So It's basically about loosing the innocence of childhood while transferring to adulthood.... Basically growing up and became a victim of temptation.... It can be anything, money, fame, freedom,greed..... The book and the mv talks about how we should accept both good and bad parts of ourselves to grow in character and in life.....

I also read so many books from this MV - it’s an amazing dive into the psyche!! this is awesome live too! Young forever - Jimin has “Young” tattooed on the back of his left arm above his elbow and “Forever” on the right. It’s a very special song for all of them. The live of this is breathtaking. 💜😈

I've come to realise that age is simply a state of mind and not actual calendar years. I've met youngsters who seem so old and oldsters like me who are so young. I'm 54 and tho physically I feel my years, mentally I am still the same unsure kid I was back then. Forever Young is sort of my life anthem now to remind myself not to get old in my head.

Others have mentioned Wembley Stadium and ARMY taking them by surprise by singing Young Forever, it’s emotional . It’s quite an important song for them. On the new song “For Youth”, the recording starts with ARMY singing “Young Forever”. I guess you’ll get to it sometime but the “Proof” live in the desert with Anderson Paak is outstanding, their voices have never sounded better. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6StkHxnoa2jptU Someone may also have mentioned BTS parodying Blood Sweat and Tears. Suga s face is a picture! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6u2XoCCj5aij6M It’s so great that you’re getting to some of these songs now. At the beginning I’m sure everyone was just screaming about what to watch next and this was an obvious one, but now seems the right time. Hoping you get to watch the performance at MMAs 2016 ( shockingly they were so capable and professional so quickly in their career), there’s other songs in the whole performance that you might want to check out first- “Fire” and the JHope “”Boy meets evil”. Generously here he shares the stage and dance fabulousness with Jimin. Enjoy! Ps, keep being you . It’s a remarkable thing to come across someone reacting to something they wouldn’t have thought they were interested in and doing so with integrity 👌

Yet to come isn't technically part of the BU because it's not part of the description and also because the MV is mainly nostalgic for BTS and ARMYs. However the use of the title "The Most Beautiful Moment" is actually the first arc of the BU series. I would consider the arcs to be HYYH or The Most Beautiful Moment, Youth (JPN versions of songs), Wings and Love Yourself. At least to me I wouldn't relate YTC's The Most Beautiful Moment to the BU's only because YTC reminisces BTS's musical journey and ARMY's support irl while HYYH's The Most Beautiful Moment starts off a fictional storyline. But there's also something very interesting. In Young Forever, the scenes that look like flashbacks are actually part of videos from the BU and although Young Forever is part of the BU, if you look at the lyrics, you can see the relations with the fans and was even the song chosen by ARMYs to sing for BTS during their concert at the Wembley Stadium in 2018. So while fictional BTS experiences their 'most beautiful moment' or the youth part of the series in the BU, Yet to Come would show BTS's and ARMY's nostalgia for that beautiful moment that has passed but still believing for the best in the future. And to talk about Blood, sweat and tears for a bit.. I wouldn't say you're wrong about your interpretation eg. a toxic relationship because anyone could interpret the song like that from a first listen. But someone who followed the BU, read the main book Demian by Hermann Hesse, which Blood, sweat and tears drew references from (among other things like other artist, literary and movie references) would have a total different perspective. I've gone through 3 different perspectives for this mv because it was the first MV that I watched from them so I had one view, then it expanded when I learnt about the BU and watched again. And then, it expanded when I ended up reading the novel. So just know that the more you learn about the mv, especially with connection to the BU, it's going to widen your perspective but ofc whenever you want to. Yeah, this just the analyst in me geeking out.

Young Forever is the final video in BU chapter 1 the Most Beautiful Moment in Life era. Blood, Sweat and Tears is part of the second chapter, the Wings era, wherein BTS digs deeply into philosophy of Friederich Nietzsche using a Nietzsche follower, Hermann Hesse and his novel Demian as a template. B, S & T has a lot of complex imageries and meanings which XCeleste has put out an explanation video for. Her video is not overly heavy on BU but really divulges many important references few would get on their own. Your analysis like many was good as music is what you make it to be but was considerably off so watching XCeleste would probably blow your mind.

This is one of these songs which makes me cry. Yes, please, see Wembley 90,000 people singing it for BTS. It's profound. No wonder they added that moment into For Youth song. Which also makes me cry. 💜💜💜

If I had to choose a favorite song, that would be Young Forever. :) They have some nice live performances but their latest one at the Busan concert is probably the best. Now that we know they're going to the military, it hits differently and it makes sense they performed it one last time (the song is from 2016 and they haven't performed it much in the last few years, replacing it with other sentimental army songs such as Mikrokosmos). There's also an amazing video where the army at the Wembley stadium (english speakers) sang the song back (in Korean!) to BTS as a surprise project and BTS were tearing up (they did not expect it at all). This song is a gem, a masterpiece. PS: I love the story of your grandma. That's an inspiration :) I aspire to be like that too :)

RM is really into art and reading as you know...at the time he was reading a book called "Damien" by Hermann Hesse. That is what BS and T is based off of. Of course the book is over a hundred years old...and after it was announced a book that hadn't moved in decades in libraries around the world suddenly started being checked and bought online or sold out in certain places...I think that was when ppl started realizing they reach. BTW that moment you hear RM speak in the video...that is a quote from the book...it actually does it on several of their videos...

Y'all I have a theory.... The maze is BTS trying to navigate life. When they exit the maze and they're on the runway this represents that they will have passed on and departed this life, and that the airplane signifies them reaching a higher place, at rest/peace finally. Or it signifies them leaving their career and finally without struggles because there's no more twists and turns for them.,.what do you think? 😭 Btw these mvs are apart of the BU, and its.....a LONG story to unpack 😭

I'd like to talk about 'Imposter Syndrome' a bit. I find it interesting that most people will suffer from Imposter Syndrome at some point. You do something nice for someone and in that person's eyes you are a kind and giving person. They tell other people they know and you yourself what a beautiful person you are and others start to see you that way. You, on the other hand, have difficulty with this because it was the one nice thing you did out of many instances where you didn't or couldn't and you struggle with the fact that many people now have this image of you that may not be true most of the time. But to the person or people who saw this in you - that is who you are to them even if it was only that one time. As artists and musicians, I think the members of BTS suffer from this so strongly because they are so humble and the things that they do are amplified so greatly. I understand when the fans say they are talented, smart, funny, attractive and so on that they struggle thinking that they now have an unrealistic standard to live up to because that's how the fans see them and brag about to other people when bringing in new fans. But I wish I could impart to all of them that (while we do see these qualities in them) we as fans also see them as real down to earth people with their faults and flaws and do not strive to put them on a pedestal that is so high up that the fall could be fatal. The biggest problem with Imposter Syndrome is assuming that others see you in that particular light all the time. Imposter's Syndrome sometimes comes not from how others perceive you but from not giving others credit for seeing more than just that one part of you. To be clear - this is just my opinion. Thank you to anyone who read this whether we agree or disagree.

Blood Sweat and Tears is one of those songs that can have multiple meanings and multiple layers of meanings. On the surface, it's about temptation, the fact that there is both good and evil in your life and becoming an adult. Those themes are from the book, Demian. There are also references to Nietzsche and the Bible in here. Another surface meaning is about a toxic relationship. It's implied that the relationship is sexual, not necessarily romantic, and the boys know that it's toxic but can't resist. Another aspect of it is the BU. Another aspect of it is the temptation and potential toxicity that is a part of fame, popularity, and being an idol, with literally millions of fans. You should really watch the dance practice for this one, too. JK and Jimin, in particular are freaking awesome when they do the part where all but the one singing go down to the floor. You can't really see it in the video, but it shows how much upper body and core strength they both have, especially JK. This was also their first video where JK was finally 18 and they deliberately tried to be sexy in it, since it fit the vibe of the song. There's a LOT to unpack with BS&T.

Your friendly John Reaves Squad German speaker here: the words above the mirror in BST say 'Man muss noch Chaos in sich haben, um einen tanzenden Stern gebären zu können' which means 'You have to have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star'. This is a quote by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. His work is simplified into the idea of nihilism and 'God is Dead' but that's too simple an assessment of his stuff. He was driven primarily at the start by Greek mythology (including extensive studies on Dionysus lol), before psychological assessments of religion and mysticism and understanding the unknown as a positive, not a negative became his main areas of study. At the base of it, including the novel Daemian which is referenced all the way through this, Blood Sweat and Tears is an acceptance of ones own chaos and self (including sexuality), especially the dark parts. This is not the first time German has appeared in their music videos - it's also in Dope - and I love that the boys (especially RM) have such a wide variety of studies and understanding of the world and bring them into their music.

When you put the glasses on and whispered “what” I cackled; iknowrite 🤣 it’s confusing and artistic af with no context, you’re aware there’s so much under the surface you don’t yet understand in this video first time round... I too was vocal line wary and the little experience I’d had of Kpop made me wary of videos like this with high fashion outfits and choreo that leaned on the sexy side. Sooooo I waited months before I watch BS&T but I’m so glad I watched the explanation video, it made me buy the book Demian and I suuuuuuper appreciated BTS for diving into the mind, psychology, temptation, good n evil and all those great themes that a lot of metal also investigates through art and songwriting. I realise the choices for the outfits and choreo totally echo the theme of the song so my cringe factor went back down to 0. I trust these guys and their team now that everything has a reason, so I can just enjoy the art they offer my eyes and ears fully. Love your reactions and love BTS Borahae 🤘🏾💜
