This song is for "18 Fes"【18祭】, which is an annual event by Japan's state-owned TV channel NHK. It's a celebration of/for people who will turn 18 in the next year. Every year there's a guest artist and 1000 fans are chosen through video entries to perform a dedicated theme song together with the guest artist. RADWIMPS was the guest for the 3rd 18 Fes, at the end of 2018. RADWIMPS have done quite a few anime movie OSTs that are a bit of a cross between a ballad and jrock. It's a little tricky to find official MVs or live performances with English subs, but it's usually possible to find AMVs or lyric videos with English translations. Sparkle, Nandemonaiya (translation: It's Nothing) which actually has an official English version as well, Zenzenzen, and Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do? are all good songs. On the topic of 18 Fes, ONE OK ROCK was actually the guest for the first event back in 2016, which is where their song "We Are" comes from. I know you've already reacted to We Are, but I would really, really like to recommend you watch the 18 Fes video as well, just search 18Fes ONE OK ROCK on KZbin. There's no official English subtitles, but the video has auto-generated Japanese subtitles that you can auto-translate to English, and it's decent enough to follow what's going on. The video includes a little background on the process, a short speech on life and adulthood by Taka to the 1000 fans (and the tv audience) and then the song. (Unfortunately no subs for the song itself, but most of the song is in English, so maybe just read through a lyric translation quickly to refresh your memory on the Japanese parts before you watch and you should be fine.)

Yes! I was having the same thought, he should definitely watch both Radwimps (especially if you want to tear up) and One ok rock doing the 18 fes - it's really worth the watch🫶🎶👏👏👏

This song is often sung at graduation ceremonies in Japan.
As a fan of RADWIMPS, Seikai is far from their best work, but it's definitely an emotional one. Their older work such as 'DADA', 'Darma Grand Prix', 'Kaishin no Ichigeki' will definitely hit you hard.

This song was made for a TV show called "18 Fes", a program to celebrate 18-year-olds who were about to join the society as adults. RADWIMPS have heavier/faster rock songs, too. I like Setsuna Rensa, Oshakasama, Yumebanchi, DADA, Jikkyou Chukei..and more. Yojiro (vocalist) is known for his beautiful and deep lyrics and genius wordplay. Yojiro and Taka are good friends and they did a couple of collabs in the past. One song that I want to suggest is "By My Side" featuring Taka, which was originally released by RADWIMPS in their album but Yojiro re-recorded this song with Taka in 2016 and released as part of a fundraising event to support victims of the 2011 Japan earthquake. In 2020 during the pandemic lockdown, they went on instagram-live together and sang this song. I still watch the insta-live video because it's soooo funny! I can add English subs to the video and send a link to you :)

Radwimps start as indie-rock band and made album since 2003, they get popular about in the next or two album. Then, they really boost their popularity when they make a sountrack for the anime movie called "Your Name" which is a very popular movie. I recommend "Zense Zense Zense", "Sparkle" if you want to check out the song from the movie but if you want to check their older stuff, I recommend "Oshakashama".

Hey man. Thx for reacting to RADWIMPS, favorite band of mine. They were formed in 2001 and gained global popularity in 2016 for composing the entire soundtrack of the anime movie Your Name. I put the link below of their orchestra performance of "Nandemonaiya", one of four theme songs of Your Name. It's extremely popular among anime fans community and Japanese songs listeners. Yojiro Noda, the vocalist, really showed off his skill and range in that performance imo I encourage you to check it out even though it has no sub. Maybe you can look up the translation before or after the video? Anyway, keep up the good work man! kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2WThHV4qLh2f6Mfeature=shared
