The trio is actually from Folklore. Taylor created a love story between 3 teenagers, Betty, James, and Augustine. Songs "betty", "cardigan" and "august" are written by their perspectives.

I just recently got re-introduced to Taylor Swift. This is one of my favorite songs. This is a lovely, lovely song. I’m an amateur belly dancer and this has the feel of Romani/ Spanish rhythms of some of the tribal dances troupes I’ve worked with. The lyrics are clever-like so many of her songs. She truly has a way of capturing a phrase and making it an earworm.

If you like this song, I have good news, because there's a bunch of alternate versions of this, including a '90's Trend' version! I'll say, a lot of those versions aren't as layered, as though they got permission to use the vocal track and messed around with other arrangements.

You know John, you are one of the nicest man I "know" 💟 I feel I know you after followed you true your journey to my favorite, BTS 💜♾️ I love your channel and it's nice to learn about groups/singers I don't know much about, like Taloyr S. I just wonder, is there like a bit"popular"in the US, to "go the country/folklore way" now? I just thinking about Beyonce (haven't heard it) new record and in general the way of living. I believe artists often like to try new things...if they're allowed to. The powers that be want them to stick to what worked before, so it can be a struggle for most to break from the box/genre they became profitable in. Taylor & Beyonce have the clout to choose, so are branching out.
