I was there. We thought it would be cancelled, but it cleared up for them to start playing, then the downpour happened. They got pulled off stage, but did not want to stop playing, so they came back on. I don't think a single fan left.

The lack of phones and cameras in the audience is so refreshing. Looking at the crowd, every person looks very present in the moment. I miss those days!

One of their most awesome performances of this ever!! We don't have bands like this anymore!!!

Couldn't agree with you more. No one wants to be stuck in the rain for any event... but there are some of those special moments such as this that just define an absolutely magical moment in history. And to be a part of such moments is truly electrifying. Moments like these are a reminder to me of how beautiful life is.

I personally feel like this is a iconic live performance. On top of it being super dangerous but the crowd stayed and the perfect song for pouring rain.

I was there, but I stayed dry. I was working in one of the beer tents in the back. This was in Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo, City Hall is right behind the stage. The show was stopped a couple times because of lightning in the area, but they continued as soon as it was safe. The entire show was great.

I love this song. There's nothing like a live concert. It's nice to look back at the times when people experienced the entire concert and didn't record it with their smartphones. Those were the days 🖤😉

Hello John, thank you for reacting to my favorite rock band. I love almost all of their songs. I love ( John Reznik's) voice, it's very unique ❤. I don't know if you know this, he taught himself to play guitar ❤. Can you please react to their other songs also, like, "Slide, Black Baloon, Here Is Gone, Come To Me, So Alive".

Hi John. I also liked `IRIS` (made for a movie soundtrack) back in the day, along with their other songs, such as Here is Gone, Slide, Black Balloon, etc. These were nice songs to sing to for Karaoke, or just alone, heh. Googoo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, Fuel, Dishwalla & a few others were the Alt.Rock bands I listened to & sang to in those days of the Y2k era. In the years before KZbin, I would get the lyrics from a lyrics website & then search around for the karaoke version that someone else made. I had already told you before that you were the spitting image doppleganger of JR Richards, former frontman of Dishwalla, if you recall me saying that, but you guys are 20 years apart, because he is graying now, heh. And both of you have `JR` in your name / initials ... spooky. Today as you already know, I am now into BTS, Band Maid, Seo Taiji & a few others. But I will of course remember those days & music from 20-25 years ago. Time flies & now 2024 itself is almost over. 12/23/24

Next you'll have to check out 2 Days in February and Broadway back to back. The first is just John and Robby playing. You'll get to see just how dedicated the Goo's are to their fans. Broadway takes everything to another level. What made this concert special was that they were playing in their hometown in front of city hall. It started to rain about 2/3 into the concert and they just kept going through it without stopping accommodate themselves to the rain. And unlike more rain concerts this was 2004 and very dangerous. The EMT'S were really concerned and tried to convince them to stop, but John and Robby refused. From what I can tell two of John's guitars were trashed. The only other band I've seen refuse to stop when it's pouring so hard that you can hear the rain on the mic is ONE OK ROCK. 2 days of February: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJPUqaB7lNCahacsi=zE0miBGHCJV6iWqO Broadway: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3OWqXeHn9mWi8ksi=TCprx1-pOZ2RDM14

@Fatalistic_Viking15 күн бұрын
@Caspar_17 I mean what's better is pretty subjective. Broadway is pretty special to me since I'm from Buffalo and spent quite a bit of time on Broadway and that neighborhood. John actually grew up there. But these two performances are pretty special and show is just how dedicated John and Robby are dedicated to their fans. The EMT's tried to convince them to stop playing because of how dangerous it was to keep playing. Not only did they refuse to stop playing John runs and slides on his knees. Plus his first of two guitars was destroyed during this song. What made Broadway awesome that the rest of the band came back on stage. John's reaction was hilarious because he didn't expect it. Broadway was on one of my favorite albums, Dizzy up the Girl. A Boy Named Goo is my other favorite.
@Caspar_1715 күн бұрын
@@Fatalistic_Viking Yh I get that but surely you can agree purely based on vocal performance then Cuz is better?
@Fatalistic_Viking11 күн бұрын
@@Caspar_17 I mean I would expect his vocals to be better when its not raining. supposedly there were moments when they were getting shocked. My top choices are either Naked or Black Balloon. The lyrics and meaning behind songs like Black Balloon and Slide are incredible.

Sometimes rain can ruin a live show; other times it can take a show that would be forgotten amongst a band's thousands of shows and elevate it to legendary status. Another example of this that everyone needs to see if you haven't is Metallica performing Master of Puppets in Munich this past year. A big thunderstorm came through near the end of the show and this was the closing song for the show. They are completely soaked through, James Hetfield's hand is bleeding, Kirk's guitar stops working and you can see the water splashing on the drums every time Lars (who is shirtless) hits them. There even is a fan video out there that was shot from the perfect angle to catch a lightning bolt in the sky behind James! kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6WYfnacf5qnkLMsi=YVFxIo30O0pUK1Pb

As a person from Buffalo NY, like John and Robby.... Sorry for the accent. We say our A, E and R really hard. I have been mistaken for Canadian before but not sure why, we don't sound like Canadians... okay maybe a little of Southern Ontario since they are our neighbors and we visit each other a lot. Nevermind. Again sorry for the accent! I was at this show too. one of the best I have ever been to.

Accents are great‼️ I love how languages are regional due to ethnicity of early settlers or the community being isolated. It's literally music to my ears.🎵🎶 I'm from Michigan, so Ontario is like my second childhood home. 🇨🇦

Pick up your gain on the mic and back away a bit, it will help it from breaking and popping.
