I have had a metal partial for years and would not change it for anything. I have learned after many years how to fine tune my clasp adjustments myself. Not recommended for most but once you learn how to do it its a game changer. Nothing better than a great fitting partial.

I am glad you made this video! I went to my dentist and got fitted for a partial. I have a metal allergy, and I told my dentist. He had no idea they make partials without metal. I pick mine up tomorrow, so excited, I hope its what I wanted. Great information!

I had a lower partial made, three teeth one side and two on the other. Made of metal frame, dentist did not discuss options at all. Cannot wear it, have bones inside mouth that protrude from gum for one thing, and the partial will not seat. It hurts, metal sticking through the pink gum formed, and there is a ledge that protrudes over the outside of the gum where it seems food would collect under the partial. Have not been able to eat with it and had about six weeks. Paid him well over $2K with insurance. Think he bilked me good. I did not know there were options such as you shown. They spent very little time with me. I am 79 so I guess they think I will not need it long so who cares?

I have an upper denture (so no metal) but I do have a lower partial that is the metal. When I first got them it was a wonderful thing or at least I thought it was. Years later I had to have a bottom tooth pulled and had been told when I got the partial to begin that another tooth could be added if that happened. Well by that time my great dentist had retired so I had to find another one but no one I knew had any false teeth. The dentist I ended up with made a new upper denture and another lower metal partial. The partial has never stayed in no matter how much adhesive I put on it and would come up almost as quick as I put it in. And I never could eat or drink with them in so I always had to get take out orders at restaurants and family cook outs to eat at home without my teeth. I am getting all new dentures and a new partial with no metal. They call theirs ComfiLyte and the whole name on the partial is not complete on my paper but I can see Immediate Mandibular Partial-Resin. Anyway I am on my third visit which the call the Wax Bite Registration (most of this stuff I have to look up on the web) but I have never heard of it before and never had it done. The actual video I saw was an Aspen Dental video. I guess it depends on the dentist and how they work. Like I said my first partial was the metal kind and I loved it. The second was also a metal and I hated it and these new teeth will not have any metal in the partial and not as thick and as far back in the roof of my mouth for the top denture. Everybody that reads this pray for me. I am 66 and would love new teeth as a birthday present in August!

I am missing one front teeth. I am using acrylic plastic denture. I am finding it very uncomfortable and therefore I cannot wear them. I just had partials put in 3 weeks ago and they are all wrong, I have big bones like in the bottom and the partial keeps cutting into the bones. the dentist had shaved the partial down so far now that it had a big gap and it still is cutting in my gums. idk what to do. I have the flexible without metal and I HATE it. I would never recommend it. It’s uncomfortable and It hurts so much that I cannot eat with it even though it was adjusted many times. I know someone who has the metal and loves it.

Metal denture design gets its support from teeth but non metal one sits on gum ..so its not just appearance that matters ..after a while non metal denture will cause gum recession and tooth decay

You have to take study model impresion with alginate to design for lower and upper. Then with polyvinyl you take the upper and bite registration

Por mas que estas protesis semiflexibles sean comodas estas sacrificando una resecion gingival (perdida osea ) en donde estas apollando estas protesis la fuerza aplicada en una protesis rigida se nivelara y no habra tanta perdida osea tardara mas en ocurrir las protesis flexibles no son la opcion mas conveniente ya q si son mas comodas pero la perdida de hueso es mayor.

Claro q sí se adapta totalmente y por tu edad eres más propenso a perder hueso es por eso q lo más importante es que la prótesis no te perjudique y cuide tus tejidos y ayude a q la fuerza que ejerzas en esas zonas edentulas (sin dientes) se distribuya hacia toda la prótesis. La otra opción serían los implantes.
