Oh yes thank you bro!! I picked this album up on a whim from Best Buy in 2000. Threw it on in my car and since that day it’s been my favorite album of all time

In addition to the music, you need to pay attention to the lyrics... the story is pretty enthralling and has twists and turns - and a shocking ending!

Great! One suggestion: find the lyrics and follow along, and make sure it's an edition that has the speakers listed...it gets very confusing if you don't know who's talking at each point in the story! The Dream Theater wiki usually has good lyrics

Yup, it's a literal play. It needs added context for first time listeners. I listened casually as a teen, and my boyfriend summarized the story for me. But I only got the whole story and all the details when I listened closely with the lyrics on screen. The album is absolutely brilliant ❤ My favorite by far.

La Brie in the studio is pretty damn good. La Brie LIVE.... The very definition of FAIL

So it's best to not see them live? 🤣

@@MetalBreakdown Labrie was amazing live back in the 90's. However, his vocal cords got really messed up in a food poisoning incident, and with the combination of that and old age he is really bad live these days. He tries to do way too much when he should just stick to the melody and play it safe. They are still definitely worth seeing live (especially with Portnoy back now), but just be aware that James won't be good.

I beg to disagree. Seen them live twice, in 2020 and 2022. He sounds really, really good. I think he's worked a lot on his voice since the damage to his vocal chords. Although I might be biased since I'm one of the very few who couldn't see anyone else taking LaBrie's place as Dream Theater's frontman, and I loved him since my first listen to them back in 2006.

Jesus... you pause way too much! Probably the most I've ever seen on a reaction channel. How can you enjoy listening to something if you don't take it together? That's like commenting on a meal by eating flour, then Crisco, then butter, then Apples, and then trying to tell me your opinion on an Apple pie. Knock it off. Other KZbinrs play the whole songs from beginning to end and don't get banned for copyrights since they're commenting. Too much man. It's too much.
