This is the album that really put KG on the map. It's meant to be played in its entirety on a loop, but KZbin's copyright system definitely makes that really difficult for reaction channels. Regardless, i hope you enjoy it! Cant wait for you to get to Polygondwanaland too! My personal favorite is Evil Death Roll. That song is nuts. EDIT: The "trick" at the end is a music video only thing. The guitar riff after the scream is the start of the next song, Big Fig Wasp. You wont hear that trippy fadeout on the album.

Something to remember with Nonagon Infinity is that the album was built around the concept of songs flowing from one to the other, even from the last song into the first, which is why this song starts and ends so abruptly. The very end of the music video actually contains the very beginning of the next song in the album.

My personal fav album, also for future videos with this album, make sure to go back to the previous song at the ending so you can hear the transitions since it’s supposed to sound like one infinite song

Fun fact: According to a lot of theories people do, this song is about Han-Tyumi And the full album is like a loop-song, every song continues with the next... Including the last song to this one, is really cool for hearing in one sitting

The thing is, the concept of each album isn't necessarily related to the sound of it Murder of the Universe and Nonagon Infinity for example are totally different concepts, one is a sci-fi apocalyptic sequence of stories meant to be listened in a row, and the other is an infinitely repeating album where every song flows into one another. Sonically speaking though, they sound extremely similar

So glad to hear you're gonna check out Polygondwanaland next! Just remember, you're gonna have to break it up kinda like you did Altered Beast. It's broken into 3 tracks per part, but you'll want all 3 in the same video. The order is: 1) Crumbling Castle 2) Polygondwanaland, The Castle In The Air, Deserted Dunes Welcome Weary Feet 3) Inner Cell, Loyalty, Horology (best set in my opinion) 4) Tetrachromacy, Searching..., The Fourth Colour

MOTU is cool, but IMO Nonagon Infinity is vastly superior. It's arguably their best album (along with Polygondwanaland and Petrodragonic Apocalypse). Don't worry, your criticism of MOTU is valid and I share some of it to some extent (although I still like it a lot). You're just starting your Gizz journey, it's gonna be a hell of a ride, they don't have a bad album but some are obviously better than others. I really enjoy your reactions, keep it up, man!

Nonagon is held as their most popular pick for best album. Mind Fuzz is agreed to be their most classic gizzard sound. Between more accustomed fans there’s a split between MOTU being a favorite/most Gizz album for heavy fans and on the lighter end many will say sketches is their best. I love all of these children equally.

This is a seminal album for the band - as others have said. It captured the energy of the band's jam culture. Polygondwanaland on the other hand, has less drive but is far more sophisticated. I'd imagine you'd love it too. After these two, try Quarters! - a jazz jam session.

I think that the way Murder of the Universe does repetition is fine, its just moreso that the album overall is more about music in service to a story as more of a tool of forward movement, rather than being something like program music where the instrumentation is meant to directly reflect the storytelling in itself. I love murder of the universe, but I don't think I appreciate the album very much for the musical side as much as the narrative aspects of it. The way that the title track hits me gives me goosebumps, but not because of the instrumentation, but rather the way it falls apart, and the way that the narrative being told comes to a head, and the fact that the very concept is fucking scary. I think that if you are able to come at it from that angle, you might appreciate it more, but that will take a lot of time to adjust to. I know a lot of people start off not enjoying that album because it takes them a while to change gears from their other albums for that sort of vibe and general concept. As for Nonagon, there is a huge deal of repetitive vibe and feel throughout the entire thing, but its generally more as though the album is a single, long song. They did a show I think in France where they played through the entire album, almost in one go, and brought it straight from the last track to the first, and it was a pretty damn good show. The show was the Cabaret Vert show on 25/08/2016, hugely recommend giving that show a watch once you've listened through all of nonagon, both separated for the channel, and at least once all the way through on your own time. There's also a track from Quarters! in that show, so you might also want to wait for that too, but that's up to you.

Dude, you're gonna hate Rattlesnake lol. I think the repetition is just part of their charm at this point. But it's also fitting for their underlying Krautrock vibe if you get me. The motoric drums with the mantra lyrics kind of. Balrog is a mid song compared to the rest of their discography IMO.

@@rockdariff Well all I'll say is I think you'd definitely have a better chance to pop off on the KZbin algorithm if you had an editor to remove some of the downtime and to tighten up your thoughts to be more concise. Not a knock at you or how you create your react content at all, just saying that the no edit approach definitely has its drawbacks 😅keep on envying, metalhead!

I agree with you on MOtU, it's far from my favorite but still a valuable piece of their progression. Each album you can tell they grow and stretch their abilities - learning to self-record, polyrhythms, microtones, speed metal etc. They just get better each year, so it's probably best this order you've chosen is mostly chronological.
