This masterpiece is also a cultural education for those whose exposure to music is limited to mainly mainstream pop. The creepy kid epitomizes the innocence of creation. Every human is born innocent, untainted by the evils of prejudice which is also driven by passion; becoming slave to evil passions is an acquired trait as we grow into adults hence a choir in black, the overwhelming passion (red dominant stage) of lives lived in a world where much of the innocence of man (child in white) is lost as we engage in our passions. BUT there is always free will - the choice between good and evil depicted by the black and white contrasts of Dimash's black shirt/white suit. This Igor masterpiece I heard was based on the Divine Comedy of Dantes Inferno. Opera enthusiasts would get it.

Not quite right, even children are born sinners, although until they are of an age to choose or reject Jesus they would go to heaven, if they died. Adam and Eve sinned and thereafter ALL humans are born sinful, part of the human condition when they rejected God and fell. They had a perfect relationship with their Creator God Almighty and they did the ONE thing God forbade them to do. The good news is that Jesus is the Last Adam and He came to restore us back to the Father so we can have a relationship with Him for all eternity. We have to choose where we are going to spend eternity in this life. Every knee will bow to Jesus Christ one day, but if you haven’t chosen to follow Jesus, Our Creator, in this life, it’s not going to get you out of the punishment that you deserve for all of eternity.....

MATTHEW MY DEAR! THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!......Passione. This song is in Italian. The lady in black represents our passions, the little white girl represents our soul witch is eternally clean and innocent as a child . We live our lives full of passions but we need to remember there’s a Soul living in us, This “Passione” Song is by Igor Krutoy, great pianist and composer, composed this epic song for Dimash. At the beginning we seem to be in a Cathedral, the choir is fantastic. The background is a picture of Hyeronimous Bosch inspired in Dante’s Inferno. Greetings from a Mexican Dear ! ❤️🇲🇽❤️🇰🇿

It is inspired by The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, you can see it in the Back drop of the stage Bartolomeo Di Fruosino's Inferno. Be sure to read the translations as it feels like that it is not complete until one can understand the words to see what he is trying to conveying singing this song! WOW!! Krutoy and Dimash are introducing historical ART and philosophy to a whole audience that most have never been in contact with it! I can only bow before such courage and audacity!💖💖💖💖💖💖

Jack o' Plumkin not sure where your from but I think you have to watch a trailer to a horror movie or a horror movie to understand. In American movies You don’t even have to see the children they just put this sweet angelic voice using it to draw you to danger and if you follow it you will surely die. . So when in this performance the woman is saying her piece that sounds very dark over and over and all of a sudden this sweet voice comes in that’s the first thing I thought of. It has nothing to do with the sweet little girl. I hope this helps you understand why it feels this way to us.

We know that our beloved Matthew has always been intelligent and smart. But the meaning of the song "Passione", in my opinion, it did not unravel. I'm going to try to tell Matthew and other Western viewers who didn't understand the meaning of this song to tell me how I understood it. I consider this song an outstanding, world-class, deeply philosophical work. Matthew correctly thought that there is something in the scenery from the Renaissance, but did not go further. Behind Dimash's back, the scenery showed pictures of Hell - the fire and torment of sinners in Hell. The choir in black dresses embodies the vices of all people. The girl in white represented a kind and innocent pure soul, like a child. In each person lives Good (pure soul) and Evil (vices). I don't understand why the girl in white seemed terrified Matthew, but the dead man on Matthew's chest t-shirt doesn't seem terrified to him. Why? Maybe because he used to watch too many horror movies as a kid, where everything is turned upside down. Pure and innocent is explained by evil and horror, and devils from Hell are normal. We see skulls, horns and other devils everywhere - on clothes, on tattoos, on posters behind the backs of some bloggers. And they don't think it's horrible and scary. A little girl in a white dress who sang a beautiful melody scares them. Goodness, virtue and vices in every man's soul are in struggle, in passion. If vices win in a person, a person leads the wrong way of life. He becomes a slave to his vices, such as drunkenness, drugs, gambling, meanness, hypocrisy and others. In this song of vocals, which Dimash performed, it seemed to me the singing of Angel. During the vocalization of the scenery with Hell are replaced by a pink-blue sky with angels trumpeting the victory of Good over Evil. In this song Dimash won his vices. Matthew, that's how I deciphered this complicated song. I hope you get me right. Thanks for the reaction. I love your professional photographer's look to small details.

Let's start a little comment to analyze : my point of view is that it's the story of a person dying and afraid of going to Hell. Why ? The rocking chair and then the breath, the loss of breath as afraid and the angel so death. Dimash, as in Know and as in Qarain Elim, is a God figure telling to a human what ordeals they will face (first verse). The tone is low and the head high as the God looking down this creations. However even the lyrics are reminding of the passions, the girl arrives. She is a symbol the soul because let's quote the Bible "And said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3, thanks Internet). So she is the human accepting their conditions as the person dies (loss of breath). Dimash with his high notes symbolize the angels going to take the soul. The mix voice represents the pain of death with the cry of loose of your body. Dimash has a softer tone now, because he isn't saying what to do to the soul but remembering them the ordeals they faced. And the hand movement at the end is the benediction of God. The background is Bottichelli's representation of Dante's Inferno going from the very low to out of Hell with the rising to paradise. Thank you for reacting to these piece which is kind of disturbing at first.

This performance is based on The Divine Comedy by Dante, the paintings are the souls waiting to find out their reward or punishment in the afterlife, its meant to look chaotic and shows them in excited anticipation or writhing in despair. The choir in Black are those waiting for hell the girl in white represents the innocent childlike state thats needed to enter heaven, Dimash that she touches first represents the supreme being then she touches some of the choir who may be saved perhaps. Its hight art, the angel is Michael the chief angel, and Dimash shows theightness of the heavenly state and performs this version of Dante Aligheris' work well, and his impeccable voice is so good here. All in all art at its best, so, so beautiful. ❤

Just one comment: Passione here means Passion not in the sense of strong feeling but suffering, trial, ordeal. Like "Passion of Christ". At first the background is cluttered, broken and distorted by design. This is Hell actually. Everything is disfigured, pure dissonance, without Oneness. Like broken mirrors. And look at the background (after the girl) he is literally rising from the Inferno and suffering up through the clouds into the Heavens and taking the audience with him. The background is one calm free space full of light and air. Thank you for your reactions. I enjoy them greatly.

Love your reaction to this masterpiece. I was as overwhelmed as you. Beginning with a choir and church bells, he starts with that breathy low voice. Background reminds me of Dante's Inferno, with naked souls trying to rise above the flames. The struggles of human existence, the crucible we all are driven through in this life, is well depicted. There is chaos, then 'a little child shall lead them' seems to be depicted by the child in white who seems to sooth the chaotic chords of the choir. Then you hear the sighs and breathing that seems to calm the chaos --- and then as the color of the light changes (great call on your part) the angelic high notes stun us. And I mean STUN. That run is beyond compare. We see in the background an optical illusion of Dimash rising into the clouds, when in fact, it is angels descending. When Dimash kneels in supplication at then end, I am undone. Just an amazing piece. Igor Krutoy proves his brilliance . Dimash proves his brilliance. What a pair.

I'M SORRY? THAT RUN? hahaha love your reactions and detailed analysis! I think what they wanted to convey with that woman/rocking chair/heavy breathing was a hard time/lies/life struggles (just like he sings - 'you will drown in lies'), but then an innocent girl comes out/angel in the background show that there's a bright side (just like he signs - your heart will take you where it belongs/you will be happy). All done in that renaissance style with a great choir (church vibe). And of course his vocals demonstrate that change (low voice/suspension), then these runs (changes) and then soft voice in the end (positivity). I personally love it, it's so creative, that you don't see anyone making art like this nowadays.

Cool reaction !! Super! Thank you! You haven't seen much of Dimash yet: Know (there is a video for this song, and I liked how much you noticed in the video for the new song), Mademoiselle Hyde, We are one, Love of tired swans, Battle of Memories, Screaming, "Idol Hits", Akkuym, Never land ... .. And yes, look at the trio: Dimash, Lara Fabian, Aida Garifullina. This is also an opera, and Dimash is such a man among two beautiful women, his gaze shines unusually throughout the song! Thank you!

Passione is difficult to "digest" It was so funny to see you so confused for the first time. That girl got you...😅🤪 You need to know about "The Divine Comedie", from Dante, to get the paralel with "Passione" If you listen carefully to the music, you can get the feeling of a trip on a boat on even waters turning into a kind of storm and then even again. It is like an inner journey trough our emotional world of passions to finally recover the purity of our souls, represented by the girl.

In order to comment on such a masterpiece as Passione, one should necessarily know not only the musical basics but also some literature, art, philosophy, history and have a very broad cultural background with knowledge of the Christian faith. (Knowing religions does not mean you are religious.) Without this, he cannot understand the deep message that the song carries within itself. Instead of understanding, a very wrong idea appears, which is the result of the commentator's knowledge or ignorance - he replaces the parable of childlike innocence and an angel with a scary (Hollywood) figure. And yes the scary atmosphere that arouses anxiety was staged, but only after the departure of the girl, with Dimash's more than perfect vocalization. In this performance, everything had its purpose, including a background with strong colors at the beginning. I agree with Asia Музыка and similar comments. Matt thanks for the reaction despite some gaps.

The little girl is not creepy. This feeling is imposed on us by horror movies. Note that after the girl passed, the background at the bottom changed - from Dante's Hell it became bright, with angels. This innocent and beautiful girl is the bright soul to which everyone must return. The whole concept of this performance is deep and very well shown up! My opinion! Greetings from Bulgaria!!!

It blows my mind, everything. That run in the middle of the high note was superb. I vote for the story, the little girl represents light in the inferno, she comes and the change began. "Our hearts will take us to a beautiful place at the end." Lyrics are great.

Matt, have you ever listened to Hua Chenyu from his performance on Singer 2018? I love his songs Child and Ordinary Path, but I'd especially love to hear your reaction to Nunchucks; it is so much fun and blends about four or five styles of singing seemlessly. Also, I just watched Tengri, from the same season of the Singer, perform his song "Heaven" and it blew my mind (English subtitles are IMO very important)--I've never heard Mongolian throat singers. Tengri and Dimash also do an amazing song called Swan Goose, which they sing in Kazakh, Mongolian, and Mandarin. They are insanely good together (and the background instrumentalists and Mongolian throat singer are AMAZING).

@@ptxdearpearsDQ I'm not sure if you've watched the 2017 season of The Singer, but on the off chance you haven't, I recommend clicking on the link and watching the woman who comes on after Dimash (at about the 45 min. mark). She is Chinese-born, but she married a Canadian guy and now lives in Toronto. That's not the only reason I like her, obviously--I don't think I'd ever heard this song before I watched her perform it and I think it's just beautiful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmmQg42uarmooKc

The girl in white comes by with her innocence and touches Dimash and the earthly choir, elevating them (that wail at the end after she touches them is like the evil falling away). The woman that you noted wasn't singing: your're right. This is one of my favorites and I've listened to it over 50 times. The bells, the whisper, the woman, the girl, the rocking chair , the wail (which was Dimash's voice) and the breathing were all pre-recorded. I agree with others who have said that horror movies have made us unjustly suspicious of cute little girls in white. :-(

One more comment, a very new idea. Earlier in the comments I saw an interesting insight, about an old dying person being afraid of going to Hell. What if a person is a female who suddenly remembers her past her innocence, where she had come from (that girl representing her past self, like distant memory, something old, far away and a bit creepy), and she starts fighting desperately not for life, but for her soul. That is why the troubled woman's breathing and then kind of female aria. Then she wins, breaks free and soars upward. Dimash is on the contrary, not a suffering soul, but a guiding angel who says that everything will be alright, that the suffering person shouldn't be afraid. He/she (a freed soul has no gender) should just remember the origin and it's divine nature and the soul will certainly return to the Source.

I really like your breakdown of Dimash videos, you notice and analyze things that most people miss. you have a very keen eye for detail that i appreciate. A good example of this was in your reaction to Endless Dimensions when the camera past "through" the glass of the spaceship and there was a slight "bump feel" that most people would not pick up including myself but you jumped on it instantly. All other reaction videos on Dimash focus on him and what he is doing and i cant blame them because he is so mesmerizing and commanding but you are able to maintain peripheral awareness around him. It adds to the quality of your reaction. P.S. cool choice of gaming chair, i have the same one in red!!! ( i have a keen eye for detail too haha )

It seems to me that Dimash sings without a phonogram, The voice is alive, but the accompaniment is recorded, including the choir and the child who sings, not sitting in a rocking chair, but on a swing - this squeak is heard. And the soloist of the choir who screams Passionne tua really doesn't get into the sound. To be honest, it spoils the impression of the whole picture ... And Dimash, as always, is magnificent ... Thanks for your reaction !!! you have a precise, professional approach. I remember how a few days ago in a new video by Dimash Qairan Elim you noticed a small pebble thrown into the river ... It was cool !!! )))))

As we live our lives, we are surrounded by passions. And we often forget about the soul. Low passions take hold of us and then the demons rejoice in both our sufferings and our (as it seems to us) "joys" (the woman screams "Cross and bliss"). But once you remember your pure, original soul (the girl in white), all the demons (the chorus) stand at attention. They are afraid of the divine truth parts of each of us. Remembering, the person begins to struggle - this can be heard in the vocalization of Dimash, at first inharmonious - the struggle and tossing of the soul, and in the end, escaping from the power of vices, - soars up an incredibly high and pure note! The composition ends with a calm reminder-the hope that only after experiencing betrayal and disappointment, overcoming the base desire to take revenge or give up and give up, you can fully feel the real bliss and bliss of a pure soul. There are a lot of semantic facets and layers. Viewing it every time in different moods and in different life situations, you will get different meanings and feelings... But one thing will remain unchanged - DELIGHT!
