Really like the fact that you branch out and react to different things and appreciated your commentary on this video even more. Billie has stated that she has her own feelings about what she writes, but wants the listener to be able to draw their own conclusions and take from it how they feel. Exactly what you just did and that’s the whole point of her music. I think your point of view was very well said. Hope you’ll take a chance at listening to more of her music. Maybe, “You Should See Me in a Crown” or “Bury a Friend” would be a good next peek into another style of her music. It’s all very different.

Man THIS is how a reaction video should be done!! It’s so refreshing to see this over the usual video “reaction” where someone just watches a video, barely says two words, laughs once or twice, then begs me to like and subscribe. You listen to the song without much interruption, tell us your thoughts, read the lyrics and break those down, then gave an anecdote relating to the song. Perfect reaction video. 10/10 Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Chances are you saw a post or two of mine on Facebook. As a fellow metalhead, I still love Billie and will be seeing her in March. Glad you checked her out. This song is good, but she has songs that are darker. Try “Bury a Friend” or “All the Good Girls Go to Hell”. Normally I’d recommend you watch a live acoustic performance, but her visuals are so powerful and intentional in her official videos. As metalheads, I know we appreciate that sort of thing. But I’d recommend checking out more of her stuff.

Billie Eilish - You should see me in a crown (vertical video) If you don't want to watch the video - there's an audio version 😁 It's not my style of music too. Personally this song reminds me of my relationship with my abusive ex husband. He was an extreme extrovert and I bent over backwards to make him happy and keep at his pace and I did whatever I could to make him happy. I lost myself "drinking him in" and he just poisoned me, he was toxic and deadly. I barely survived the relationship and he stained me like that black liquid and I quietly had to let go and give up on trying to change him or keep him. (I had to get out while I could.) But he has permanently stained me, even years later I feel a darkness in me that was never there before. (Billie was 17 in this video. Her and her brother were homeschooled and raised in a super artistic home. Their music crosses a lot of genres and I truly appreciate you checking her out and giving her music a chance and reaction. I know music lovers of all different genres who respect her music and maturity.]

I grew up partying in the Central NJ woods (Neptune, next to Asbury Park). Between her and her brother, they won Grammys in 7 categories this year. Album, pop album, record, song, new artist, producer and engineer. She's the first person born this century to have a number 1 album, her first full length. She had an EP in 2017 when she was still 15.
@jefffiore78694 жыл бұрын
I have heard of her for over a year, always discounted her as another pop singer. Gave her a listen a month ago, Bury a Friend, and I was blown away, she definitely defies expectations and does her own thing. Her videos are her creations and are so artistic. She reminds me of Avril Lavine who in the early 2000s broke the mold and defied expectations on how people thought a female pop star should look.

hey just stumbled upon your channel and i noticed you made a good point when you said “i’m a metal head so i’m used to this type of imagery” that’s why i love billie she does stuff out of the normal and she brings the two worlds together the subtle pop vocals with the uncommon “dark” music videos, she has something for everyone.
@stevenclubb77184 жыл бұрын
Without sounding anything like him, she reminds me of Alice Cooper. She's got a nice theatrical quality that embraces the use of fiction and horror in her work. She's a bit hit-and-miss with me, but has about a 75% success ratio and some of the arrangements get stuck in my head in a great way.

A lot of people like to hate her because its popular to hate her, and they see everyone else do it so they should to. Sadly people do that about a lot of music and people :(
@arielcheyenne18534 жыл бұрын
What grabbed me was the juxtaposition of melancholy pure stacked harmonies with inky tears. She chose very carefully when to sing with the track and how she had had her fill of hurt and is overflowing with emotions. It's very teen but also universal to anyone who's ever had to come home alone after breaking up or losing someone. Coming to terms with It must be done and eventually it'll be for the best but it's a lie to say you don't feel the absence.
@kl69024 жыл бұрын
I never followed her before and then I randomly just came across her video for this song and was so emotionally moved, it struck a nerve for me. I felt like the drink signified the toxicity of people/this world and how we’re forced to drink it down for whatever reason. All that toxicity fills us until it pours out and we can’t control it anymore and then it ends up killing us. I was just moved to tears when I saw it.
@antisocialinput24 жыл бұрын
Whether or not you analyze the lyrics correctly or not is beside the point. I loved that the song gave you an ability to talk about and express your thought. To me, music is always yours. No matter who is listening, everyone will take it their own way. Love the video. I love metal and I love Billie. You should ABSOLUTELY react again. I agree with Andrej Gregus; "Everything I Wanted" is an amazing song and video.

Isn't it funny how like 80% of us seem to have similar stories about 'been there did that' in one form or another when we hit 30. When i hit 40, i remembered saying that at 30 while i was thinking of what occurred over the last 10. I'm 46 now. Now I wonder what i'll think at 50...60...if i'll make it there. Not a metalhead, but love Billie. I NEVER subscribe to channels, but the way this guy broke down (in an intelligent way and from experience) how he sees the meaning of the song is the part that's missing from most others reaction videos. I recently discovered reaction videos, so for the last few months, I've found them interesting to see how others are feeling about the music that I like. This guy is good because he reacts to all the parts -- visuals, music, and lyrics. Very real. Like this. This guy might get have me listening to things outside my comfort zone, so I subscribed. Sigh. Ready for metal?? :/

As a kid growing up in the U.K. we had a guy on the radio called John Peel, that gave me a music education. He would play literally anything from Kraftwerk, Stetsasonic through to Napalm Death there was no genre off limits. So I never became a metal/hip hop/name your genre head but a music head and for that I’m ever grateful. There is so much incredible music out there and music in every form. Would really like to see you react to the official video of This is America by Childish Gambino. If you do, please do it with the video

Her first song ever was, ocean eyes, where she got popular. with her brother making the sounds and the music. But in general, if you wanna react to any other song of her, don't expect much difference on her voice style ... you know? THAT"S her style right now... don't know if she is gonna change it in the next years, well maybe she will, maybe not who knows... She is an artist and that's what artists do ... creating art. Experimenting sometimes here and there. But lyrics wise, her style goes deep i think. Thoughtful meanings, seeing things through different perspectives and so on....

[May 15, 2024] You're very kind to Billie - for the record, FINNEAS was the sole writer of this song. I have facetiously suggested {I'm a 70 yr old fan} suggested FINNEAS should have to do a video like this with the Black liquid - it would only be fair!!. I love that HOT ONES video. I wondered today - 4 yrs. later - if she is still the youngest person to be on HOT ONES. - I kind of doubt it. FINNEAS also was the sole write for "Ocean Eyes", "My Strange Addiction", "Watch", and "6 Feet Under". For the song "Bored" Billie and Finneas had 2 other songwriteers contribute with them.
