Aside from being a super talented artist and all around bad ass, JDB is super intelligent, eloquent, humble, and self-aware. Really enjoyed hearing John talk, and the interviewer was excellent as well. It’s obvious the interviewer (who I’m new to) is also super knowledgeable and knows what to ask and how to let his subject speak. Excellent job all around!

Phew. Never knew they had it so rough in the early years (and STILL do occasionally). That amount of dedication and toughness is impressive. Didn’t think I cared for Stone on first listen. At the end of that week I was out in the woods in a cabin celebrating a friend’s birthday and realized Last Word was stuck in my head. Next thing, me and my friends are drinking beers and listening to the album and discussing it. Grew on us unexpectedly and quickly. Magnolia is really living in my head now. Gold and Grey was kind of the same for me, though. Didn’t really land on first listen, but soon became one of my favorites.

I actually didn't care for Gold and Grey, I felt it just lacked something I couldn't really define. However Stone more than makes up for it, and I think this might be my favorite record from them. I'll have to go back and listen to Purple, as that's the album to beat for me, even though I came in on Yellow and Green, Purple was the triumphant return after the bus crash, and it feels like it to. But now Stone feels like what john mentioned, a new stability in the band and a new foundation for what they are. If future Baroness records build off of this, then I think they're gonna be producing some solid music for more years to come, cause this record is nearly perfect! Baroness has absolutely leveled up with Seb, Nick, and Gina. John found really talented people and he better hold onto them for dear life, cause this is the best version of the band in it's history if you ask me!
