It's really amazing how James used dissonance (i think that's how you pronounce it :P) in Battery's main riff :).
@gavindalton22384 жыл бұрын
Yeah the “dissonance” is him using a minor third instead of a typical power chord.

The song goes from 4/4 to 5/4 for a measure, I feel like it really drives it or keeps it going if it makes any sense, so when you get to it just improvise some rhythm guitar in 5/4 and then back to 4/4

incredible cover bro, perfect to a tee. String gauge and pick thickness here?
@camdustoevsking4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! The strings are Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom (0.10 - 0.52). The pick is the black Dunlop 1.0mm, and a different pick for the lead stuff!
@BingBongWasheeWashee4 жыл бұрын
@@camdustoevsking Thanks for the reply! I am a beginner player and love playing metal. What is your experience in playing fast riffs like this with thicker E string (.52)? I have 9-46 on, is a thicker E string gonna help with playing it better or is it technique really? The question is similar for pick too. Are the dunlops max grip?
@camdustoevsking4 жыл бұрын
@@BingBongWasheeWashee I find that it's much more about technique than equipment! The string gauge and pick thickness I use definitely help (to answer your question my Dunlop isn't max grip, it's regular). Find the equipment (gauge, thickness, etc.) that feel good for you-and then spend most of your time learning the right techniques. That's what will help you play faster and better!
