When you said you can interpret Metallica songs in different ways it reminds me of a quote Hetfield said once. " If that's what it means to you then thats what it means." You are spot on my friend.

Their live version at Woodstock '99 is phenomenal. You can just see James pouring all his emotions out, right there on stage. ❤ They've been making music since '81. They have ten personal studio albums, a couple cover records, two albums using their songs in collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and an album doing a side project as guests for Lou Reed, tribute songs for other musicians & a track in the movie "Mission Impossible 2, etc... They've experimented with different styles a few times; going from thrash metal to heavy metal to hard rock & bluesy rock, back to thrash. They went commercial in '91 to appeal moreso to the masses with their self titled record "Metallica" AKA "The Black Album" which features "Enter Sandman" & still sells 5-6k units per week. They've made their own concert themed movie called "Through The Never." And there's also a really cool documentary called "Some Kind Of Monster" that chronicled an unforeseen two years of the desperate upheaval in the band, after their bass player at that time, had left the group.... a rehab stint & group therapy ensued shortly thereafter. They've had many faces, many moods...and I love every one of them. 👊

Yeah, man. You are beginning to develop and adjust your hearing to this type of music and Metallica is the best guide in this journey of yours. I'd love to see your reaction to something really heavy, fast and really influential. The title is disposable heroes. Now, I think you are ready to react to a live performance. And the one in Mexico 2009 is insane. Pull up the lyrics because they matter. We will enjoy it with you. Really, I believe you will appreciate what they do, seeing them perform. Seing everyone doing their thing in front of massive crowd. The energy is just unbelievable. Other suggestions will keep coming from everyone here and we will point you to the songs that will make you a fan

To me, its about someone that is trying to fix their life, but struggle because they continuously keep doing the same harmful mistakes over and over. Thats why some of the lyrics repeat and the last lyrics are exactly the same as the beginning lyrics. Its an endless cycle of trying to better himself

6:40 that little kickback you made to that section, recognize it? It's an adaptation of Lord Byron.

If you want to see a video of Metallica live, check out any of them from Moscow in the 80s. You'll be blown away, 1.6 million people in the crowd!
