Those Sherman tank crews were fucking brave. Usually it took four Shermans to kill a Tiger tank. The Tiger blew away three, they burned like Ronsons, one Sherman shot the Tiger in the ass where the armor was thinnest We won because we had plenty of gasoline powered Shermans and crews. Trading off speed and manueverability for protection.

Once the Sherman was upgraded to the wet ammunition storage the survival rate was above average. The Tiger is imposing in a way, but it broke down a lot, and the US only ever actually faced a a few in the entire war, almost all of them were on the Eastern Front, so that was Russia's problem to deal with (and they actually had a pretty solid approach for taking on those heavily armored beasts). I think having lots of pretty good tanks to support your infantry is worth way more than having a few of a cool, but also pretty flawed tanks. The Sherman isn't the flashiest, but it's also by no means bad, with its welcome quantity being a strong quality in itself.

Because they were such a complex and heavy machine, many broke down and were difficult to recover. Round about 1500 Tiger + 600 "Königstiger" were produced between 1942 and the end of the war. Thats nothing against the masses of tanks build by the allies. It is said, that it was more likely, that a tiger ran out of ammunition than of enemies.

Hätte die Wehrmacht ein halbes Jahr diesen Nachschub an Material gehabt,....und nicht die ganze Welt gegen sich....Nur mit den KZ,das war Scheiße was wir Deutschen gemacht haben.

@@robyndodge3352 no, they used it on both. Blitzkrieg was used in WW2 4 times in total against different enemies. 3 of them were successful. The first one in 1939 against Poland, the second one in 1940 against France, Belgium and Netherlands and against the Soviet Union (Russia) in 1941. All of this were successful. The very first time Blitzkrieg was used was in the Spanish Civil War but it was a very early version of it. The fourth time Blitzkrieg was used in WW2 was against the allies forces after the invasion of Normandy (1944-1945) but by then the British and the Americans knew their game pretty well so they had perfected anti-air weaponry so it was a big failure which resulted in Germany being captured by the allies in the west and the Soviets in the East.

@@bloodyfx1065 The couldn't have used blitzkrieg in Spain due to logistical and terrain problems, but they also used in the Yugoslav and Greek campaigns in 1941. It was also used in the Ardennes offensive in 1944 and the summer offensive in the USSR in 1942. There is also many smaller incidents where blitzkrieg was used by the German army that being The Siege of Budapest in 1945 , The Battle of Kursk in 1943, as well as many other small examples.

Hitler hated the word and he even called it an "Idiotic term" Now we just use it to refer their tactics based in mechanized warfare. Blitzkrieg was used 4 times during the war too, not only against the Polands and the polands were not the first.

It's harder to find but it's usually on a special edition on tape, it's rare to find a CD with it because they're extra tracks of cover tunes, this being blitzkrieg by blitzkrieg and am I evil by diamond head but they're very popular covers, if you don't listen to the band blitzkrieg though I highly recommend you check out buried alive and armagedon
