Metallica has got to be the most documented band of all time. There’s video on everything. From cover songs to therapy sessions and everything in between.

Yeah but the problem with that is that from 1983 to 1989 they weren't like that. And that was respected by the fans. They liked the fact that Metallica purposely avoided the "main-stream" world. But now......now they're over exposed and totally commercial. Period! And that my freinds; kind of leaves a bad taste in the older fans mouth. Because we have the perspective of what once was; and what it is now. And the difference is black to white. And I know that the new, younger fans cannot have that perspective. But it's all true. Metallica turned mainstream. And in the beggining years.......they promised the fans that they would forever uphold that promise. And they did do that throughout the 80,s only. And those were the best years for Metallica.....as a fan that is.

I love the thought behind this album. The thought if doing a cover album just to give credit to those who made you want to pick up and play, and at the same time giving a different spin on the songs is just awesome. I know some people would disagree, but I hope that Metallica release a few new covers as B-Sides to the upcoming album. I'd certainly love to hear some new ones!

YeOldeOgre Well, as far as the $5,98 was an ep and not a propper album, plus the fact that it ended up already integrated among the rest of the Garage Inc album, technically means they got just one covers album. If they do another now on this quarantine for instance, that would be their second.

What would be more incredible is to have Hetfield and Mustaine put out a Record together. Musically life would be complete to see the masters collaborate on a project like this. James and Dave need to imagine how much the fans would love this idea, and the support world wide would be amazing. Hell they could prove to the world that anyone can get along!!
