Metallica - "If Darkness Had A Son" (Bass Cover)

Third single of the upcoming ‪@metallica‬ album. This one took a little longer to sink in... learning the riffs made me appreciate it a little more. Understand its details and nuances... one definitely needs to warm up to tackle these bass lines as the plucking forearm takes the heat.
I liked the bass doodle in the end. Rob is giving these songs some well-deserved grooving.

Jeze robert trujillo really knows how to play songs in the most simple way. Doesnt try and add anything cool to it. Cliff Burton and jason newsted always added some flare to the song instead of just playing the same note over and over or following the guitar the whole time...

Excellent tone and playing, sounds fantastic as always! What's the trick to getting a tone this thick and crisp at the top? A lot of it will come from attack and fresh strings but there is something else I'm missing out on. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated

Attack is definitely key. You need punch and a solid/consistent attack. My strings are not super fresh but still ring nicely. Mixing a little overdrive or distortion helps keep the low end and add that gritty crisp top 👊🏻

Buenas, soy Argentina,Mar del Plata, la verdad debo decir que pocas veces ejecuciones tan claras como las tuyas, la verdad te felicito y yo te conoci por un video que subiste del pedal Morley Power Fuzz Cliff Burton y la verdad me gusto mucho como sono ese pedal, GRACIAS POR ESO ya que lo compre de segunda mano y la verdad que se lleva muy bien con el Fuzz que trae , ya que yo tengo el wah BLANCO Dunlop y no consigo el mismo recorrrido, mi consulta es la siguiente : noto que cuando prodno el wah del morley me baja el volumen , debo mencionar que al momento de prenderlo el pedal esta levantado en su totalidad obviamente dejando las frecuencias mas bajas pero crei que aun asi esas frecuencias se iban a escuchar al mismo volumen pero no :( , por ultimo comento que aun moviendo el level obtengo el mismo resultado , es decir se sube un poco el volumen pero cuando lo piso al 100% esa frecuencias agudas suenan mucho mas fuertes y como que no queda todo al mismo volumen, ES NORMAL? QUE EL WAH PREDIDO MARQUE ESA DIFERENCIA DE VOLUMEN, uso un SHECTER SERIES V DIAMOND CON 2 EMG 40DC A 18 VOLT ,AFINADOR KORG , WAH MORLEY POWER FUZZ, SANSAMP DRIVE Y COMPRESOR MXR BASS, Y DE AHI AL INPUT DE HARTKE 3500 CON CAJAS 4X10 MISMA MARCA. SALUDOS!"!"
