The meaning of the lyrics for the Unforgiven trilogy can be briefly summed up like this: Unforgiven 1 - Can't forgive them (those that ran every aspect of his life when he was young) Unforgiven 2 - Can't forgive you (someone that he let get close, like a gf or loved one) Unforgiven 3 - Can't forgive myself (post rehab, realizing a lot of what went on in his past is his fault)

It's about Hetfield's parents (the singer). The father died in ´96, about a year after this song was written, I believe. His mother died in 1980 of cancer. His father left when he was only 13, in 1976. He didn't say goodbye. So this is him writing about that pain.

Meaning behind song in my opinion is. First Unforgiven is about child that system or sociaty will not let him get out of the box where they put him. Second Unforgiven is about that boy meeting his love and he still wonders if she is the one. That is why "or are you unforigiven too (2)". Third Unforgiven is about man at the end of his life reflecting what he is done.

You should watch their performance in Russia years ago they performed Enter Sandman for & im not kidding u a mind-blowing 1.6 million people at this event in Russia its crazy youll love it. If u want a truly heavy heavy band id suggest Lamb of God their music is very heavy some of their best songs Redneck Walk With Me In Hell & Ruin (the music video is heavily religious & i believe set somewhere in Mexico or thereabouts) Lamb of God is from my area of Richmond Virginia theyre a very intense band i think youll love them Mia keep rocking my dear ❣️💞🧡💕❤️💗🍯😘😍🥰🔥

Oh and sum other SOAD songs I think u should listen to that imo would dethrone Chop suey as ur #1 are ‘prison song’ ‘deer dance’ ‘chic n Stu’ ‘BYOB’ ‘bounce’ also songs from other bands: ‘date r@pe’ by sublime because I adore the meanings of deeper songs like this, and in an earlier video reacting to Metallica you mentioned you get lost in the sound of songs and find ur self ignoring the lyrics so this song could help that habit. A similar and in my opinion better song is ‘Polly’ by Nirvana. Also ‘smoke two joints’ and ‘where is my Ruca’ by sublime are good considering how in earlier thumbnails you mentioned your a catholic a reaction to these songs would be interesting.
