James Hetfield said that this song is about the joy, life, love, and kinship that you feel at a concert and also about not focusing on the bad in your life, but rather the good. Uplifting Hope. Eternal Light.

And they’re in their late 50s! The guitar player Kirk Hammet is 60! He had the biggest horror movie memorabilia collection I’ve even seen!

Some of your questions have already been answered... this is the first single from their new album to be released in April. And yes, they are all still going strong at 60 years old... including Lars! Here’s a link to them playing this song live... enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZSwlHmaoNxsfMk

They brought back the old vibe from 'Kill 'em All' for this one imo. It's sort of 'Hit The Lights' updated for 2023. Great lyrics about the crowd and metal fans being together as one. Kirk's solo is insane. Looking forward to the full album in April! Nice vid! Rock on!

as a few people have said, the song is about the feeling you get at a concert when everyone is in the moment together, the freedom. great reaction guys, you got a new subscriber in me.

It just goes to show you, a band can rock the F out of the planet for 30+ years, then decide to go back to basics and kick even more serious ass. And the lyrics are among James' best, in my humble but learned opinion. Good choice, Sippingtons!

She's mostly right, but if you've been to a lot of concerts it's about getting together with a lot of people that feel the same as you, especially metal people ("full speed or nothing"). Metal was taboo to an extent in the '70's 80's, concerts were a way to get with people that thought like you. It almost explains the concert experience in the '80s. It wasn't just about seeing a show, it was the only way to connect with people like you. The internet washed all that out.

From a teenager that lived back in the 80s and remembered what the Thrash metal scene really was ....I can tell you that TODAY and since the Black album...Metallica sucks
