@@nyiar9599 I mean if they can play this technically they are already really good... lets be real.. if you can play this song at speed and the solos you are pretty much a professional guitarist. Even the guy making this video took probably 100 takes to make this and clipped the hell out of his recording to make it sound good. thing is they most likely can't play this or even touch the solo lmao.. they said they could down pick the whole song.. not likely.

@JulienMENARD3 жыл бұрын
as told to an other comment ...with all my friendship this is not 21/32. This is simply a 7/4 bar (or 4/4+3/4 but it's the same anyway) Just tape your pulse in rhythm although the riff, counting correctly 1 to 8 and 1 to 7 and you will see you can keep the beat all the riff ... simple as that. Really there is no 5/8 as the "official songbook" says (who make this transcription and who say this is official ? ) or 21/32 as you can see almost everywhere on the internet ... this is just wrong. Same thing with the variation on the harmonized guitars, the 2nd time after the James solo. Official song book doesn't write it (and it write with the wrong fingering), and almost nobody play it on the internet ... but this variation is on the record so who is right ? official songbook or the album ? i choose the album. 21 sixteenth notes = 5 beat + 1sixteenth note at ... (around) 210 bpm ... who think and feel the rhythm like this ? So ... thanks for your comment by the way, happy to speak with you guys, quietly and clean, and trust me : think it simply as they did back in 1985 ! 👊🏻💀👊🏻

This is awesome. Thank you so much. Just wanted to check with the solo and the part at 3:37 when you bend the G string on the 4th fret does Kirk sometimes use his whammy bar here as I’ve seen them live on a few occasions and pretty sure he does use the whammy with a pinched harmonic.
@JulienMENARD2 жыл бұрын
Hey friend, thank you so much for your nice words, but be sure i play as Kirk used to play for ever. If you catch the last video they do for MOP he plays like my video. He also play like this back in the day on MOP tour '86 (look at the Japan 1986) Justice Tour '89 etc... cause at this time, he used to play the Jackson Randy Rhoads for this track, and this guitar have no whammy bar. Then he used to it that way all the time, cause it sounds really good like this.
@Turley302 жыл бұрын
Always played the prechorus like you did here, but live for the longest, they do it differently. Its 5th string(all p.m.) 7..9..9..9 then trill 9 to 10 on the 5th string. The Howard Stern Master of Puppets you can see it super clear. But it doesn't sound like that on the recording, it sounds like you play it here.
@JulienMENARD2 жыл бұрын
You're totally right friend, cause i think it's pretty tricky to play like the album in live situation, cause of the speed etc... and now, they probably forget how they play it on the record 😅
@Turley302 жыл бұрын
@Julien MENARD Awesome, thanks for the response. Also, thanks for your lessons!! I have an ocd of trying to play it like them. 🤣 watching youtube shows at .25 speed over and over with the wofe giving me the look. Thanks again sir👍🏼

@@JulienMENARD We all know the offcial books are wrong and of course metallica didn´t think it at 21/32. But there was a whole investigation about it, and Micheal Kamen himself (the conductor of the orchesta in the S&M 1) deciphered that way, almost no one play the riff wrong cause everyone plays the song by ear, but I think the "correct" way to write it is 21/32 based on everything I mentioned. Anyway is a great subject of conversation
@JulienMENARD3 жыл бұрын
Of course, and i think it's just a matter of interpretation in this bar, playin around the beat, and the band do it together, with nothing else than the feel of it. But when it's time to solo, it's strictly alternate picking and it match good, in particular between E and F# section so with a 21/32 bar we should have an inversion, and it's not the case so ... that's why i'm not convinced about this 21/32 bar. And not everybody know "official" books are wrong, that's why we have to mention it as much as possible ! cause lot of people like to believe wrong info coming from "official" thing than true info coming from guys of nowhere. So now, enough talking we have to play some heavy riffs and speedy licks 👊🏻💀👊🏻
