What a way to end night 1 of my first Metallica concert. When I saw Lars wave the camera down to him, I knew exactly what was about to happen next. My voice the next morning was almost gone, but it recovered enough by Sunday night to do it all over again.

I think it has to do with using a little less growl and gravel, and a little more operatic 'belting' of notes. He used the same style on both S&M albums. It preserves his voice a lot better.

This is their #1 song to me of all time. It’s the song and album that made me a drummer 16 years ago, and made me fall in love with their music, which then led me to get my first and only tattoo in their honor like the one on James’ hand but it’s on the back of my left shoulder with a stone texture to it for the MOP album.

I thought so, but I hadn’t seen anybody discuss it this whole incredible tour… I watched so many of the impossible tracking shots of the boys like I’ve never seen from a concert video. Then watching King Nothing from Helsinki, I think, I said, damn…they’re using stage level drones. But I could never prove it to my self. Until now: go to the wide shot at 2:30, and you can’t miss it. Dead lower center of the screen for about five seconds. Drones! Used for Blue Ray quality videos they give to their fans for nothing. What about these fuckin’ guys?? Just tonight bought my tickets for the two shows in Columbus OH in May. I will be 68 in two weeks. And I am so stoked

I loved this show so much. It had been almost 20 years to the day since I saw them last, and they ended with my favorite song. I was on cloud 9 for two days after this, then went back for more on Sunday with my 9 year old son for his first ever concert. Hopefully, they upload Nothing Else Matters from the 30th. They performed it beautifully that night.
