I think what they mean is, he played the solo more as it is on the original song than they have been playing since 1996. I wish he had picked the verses instead of strumming them also but you can't have it all :)

OMG... What's wrong with sound?! Especially with the distorted one during the solo... I think because of it, THANX A LOT SOUND ENGENEER!!! Seemes like James screwed a note at 4:30 but... still GREAT, still EPIC, still METALLICA... and nothing else matters...
