A quick google confirms that Cliff Burton played a alembic Spoiler bass. “CLIFF: The Ricky needs some work. I had an Alembic for a while, which I was very happy with until it was STOLEN!! If anyone out there comes across a black spoiler bass with a fair-sized chip in the back finish, up around the side of the peg head, it very well might be mine, so... just send it to me.”

I had applied for a job at Taco Bell and I went in to my job interview with my hair looking much the same as Cliffs hair, and my jean jacket covered in Metallica patches. And on the front chest of the jacket the patch "METALLICA ALCAHOLICA" My interviewer had commented on my super long hair, and I saw him looking at that patch on the front of my jacket too. Hmmm, they never did call me back, lol. Well, their loss as I've always been one of the hardest working most reliable employees at any job I've ever worked. But, my gain as fortunately can say now that I've never worked at Taco Bell! Ha... Or any fast food chain for that matter. Phew, that was a close one, almost did. I have to thank Metallica for helping me avoid that fate ha ha. Thank you!

Yes that is so true, I was friends as a kid with a middle to well to do family. We all inside one day as raining we teens13/14 year olds. I had always liked Motorhead as soon as I realised metal but anyway I digress. My friend put on Ride the Lighting album.............I was like what the fuck is that?.......,,,what amaze me now is he didn't think was such a big deal.............Really I biked on a 20"BMX 5 miles there and return same to get that vinyl that day from HMV store.

@@dickdozer6558 I kinda like the merciless sound of KEA. Of course, the more "professional" albums RTL and MOP were fantastic as well, but there is also something special about how KEA just keeps raging at full intensity almost nonstop from beginning to end. It doesn't even have that calm intro in the beginning of the first song, it immediately opens with furious guitars and drums that build up more and more. And every single song on the entire album has very fast parts, even "calm" tracks like "Anesthesia: Pulling Teeth" and "Seek And Destroy".

Good lesson here for young bands. No matter what the style of music, how tight you are, or how talented the players are, this sounds obvious but you gotta have the songs. Countless similar bands faded away but Metallica became one of the biggest bands in the world because they had the songs. I've seen so many bands in clubs who were great except for that one very vital ingredient, and after the show I couldn't remember a single chorus.
@Mr1Tanker2 жыл бұрын
That plus they had a creed basically. Don't sell out, hate the man, and death to false metal. Us young guys were vulnerable to those messages, and they played us well. At 57 now, i still never forgive them (although i understand why..i'm not naive) for selling out.. putting out a music video from "And Justice".

I heard that Cliff's death was no accident. They made it look like one. They acted devastated. Cliff Burton was a sacrifice to make Metallica big. It was an offer made by the Controllers of the music industry. And the Metallica memebers agreed to it. Many bands do this. They sacrifice "the one member you can easily replace". Harsh, but true in most cases. Not 100% sure if James, Kirk and Lars went that way, but considering no band goes as big as they do without blood being shed or blackmail, we cannot discard the possibility.
