I listened to the youtube "version" and the drums are a bit louder, however, on my disc itself...it is mastered so it doesn't sound overpowering. And technically, to live is to die, is not a true instrumental. contains Cliff's lyrics. DM is a great album, can't wait for the tour to come my way!!!
@WAMMO67812 жыл бұрын

ye instrumental songs are really what metallica are best at imo, and this is what they should do more. Orion is a perfect example of this; it's one of the best songs they have ever made, and this song is quite reminiscent of Orion. Almost as brilliant!

My Favs are All Nightmare Long, That was Just Your Life, Broken Beat and Scarred, The End of the Line, The Unforgiven 3, Judas Kiss, Cyanide, The Day That Never Comes, This one, and My Appocalypse..... Wait I know I named the whole album which shows this is another Epic Masterpiece of an album like RTL and MOP
@WAMMO67812 жыл бұрын
@RatedRCodebreaker its underrated because if you lsiten to other tallica instrumentals like, To live is to die and orion, they are masterpieces, this song is really good, but doesnt out rank them unfortunetly, but its definitely on of the best songs on Death magnetic
@DMatt34316 жыл бұрын
Hold on. Orion had no "bullshit" parts in it. That song was just straight art, man. And as for the "high pitched part", that's not a "problem", that's what's called a bridge. The majority of Metallica's longer songs have these changes, so I'm not sure why you would be listening to them at all if you didn't understand such an integral aspect of their music. This is one of several reasons that their compositions are so similar to orchestral scores and classical music. Not a bad "problem" to have.
@Metal_Mitch16 жыл бұрын
im not sure, maybe at 7:30 but who knows cliff had metallica thinking he was playing guitar when they first met until he lifted his head and james counted the strings. you can do crazy shit with octave/whammy pedals metallica is back!
@MrMetalisforlife11 жыл бұрын
it has the same lyrics as Orion
@dan08247616 жыл бұрын
samples is one thing. Yes, he spoke them. But in the true sense of the word "instrumental", then To live is to die, is not one. But why are we arguing...Metallica is back, and all in the world should watch out!

Technically, a song containing "lyrics" does not make it any less of an instrumental. If you put samples from, say, a movie, into an instrumental, it is no less of an instrumental. The same applies to "To Live Is To Die;" Hetfield SPOKE the lyrics -- he did not sing them. Yes, it is a small distinguishment, but that makes all the difference.
