Maybe ,but he doesn't yell "hey". He shouts "play" on the album and the bass slide is not in the album either and since the bass is really loud in this live version,a random bass slide can really throw you off ,hence James reaction to it. Either way,my point was but the slide more about the live music and the beauty of it. Whether it's from "hey" "play" or bass slide ,the reaction is still a jem

Sounded great. Tight and heavy. Kirk nailed the solo and Hetfields voice sounds good. I think he liked the crowds interaction on the quick pause at 4:11. He let out a slight giggle lol. I’ve always liked that spot on the album recording. I think it’s Newsted yelling “slave” or “hey”.

This performance is fantastic, but also sheds light to Jason's true legacy in his time with the band. You hear it in the signature bass riff on this song, and the lack of backup vocals that were so strong on the album and are all but missing in this performance. Robert is a gifted bassist and brings a positive energy, but we see that Jason was indeed a key piece of the band.

I don't get all these comments about James's voice and alco. Well, maybe it influenced his tone, but clearly he've been practicing a lot. His technique is great, his voice control is tight, his range is as wide as ever, he does terrific screams. Drinking has nothing to do with all of it. Deep respect for the band and James personally for getting it together and giving us such a solid performance \m/
