I think this is Metallica’s most underrated song. The bass line, the Black Album toms from Lars, the harmonizing guitars, the solo, the lyrics. It’s even more awesome live with the crowd involvement. In my opinion one of the best Metallica songs. The bass line (written by Jason) as the intro and basis of the song, the heavy riff over it, the lyrics, the interlude, the build up to the harmony solo of James and Kirk! Perfect!

They sound good in comparison to the past couple decades, and I support their continuation. However, they definitely sounded better at the turn of the 80s/90s. Time waits for no man, and denial is a waste of time.

I love all the attention Black album is getting- in my opinion it's their best album, and NOT because it's "sold a gazillion copies" or whatever... exquisite writing and an acculmulation of all they had accomplished in life and their songwriting journey since they began. Totally a mature dignified work. Like a stone monument.

This is probably my absolute favorite song of theirs. I LOOOOVVVEEE Fixxxer, Bleeding Me, and The Outlaw Torn, but I remember hearing this song at age 15 or 16 and it really spoke to me somehow. Maybe because I was a depressed, lonely and confused teen. Idk, but it def spoke to my soul, and I never forgot that experience. The other songs are amazing, but didn't give me that feeling like this song did. It went deep right from the bass line.

Ahrrrrrgh Amateurs Back in my day , Back in the day when this was new and everyone had a a walkman and you wore your school shirt untucked to look cool When we had a choice of Metallica or School....... WE PICKED METALLICA, We would run late for class only to hear the end of a song or an entire song and that meant even risking getting detention (i don't know you if you know what that is or if they still have it ) but it was fucked up, but we risked it anyway BECAUSE METAL WAS WORTH IT You need to learn the essence of heavy metal you need to learn your priorities in life You know how when the younger generation says to my generation "Man i wish i was around at that time it must have been cool" well.. this is one of those lessons , at the time we knew we would get in trouble but we stuck by metal and metal stuck by us and at the end of the day , some 30 years later, you realize you did the right thing so next time a premier is on................. WATCH IT , I promise you you'll understand the difference
