It's ridiculous to compare a self-taught drummer who learned on NWOBHM and hardcore punk who'd only been playing for 2 or so years before recording on his first album (and album that created and influenced an entire metal subgenre) to prog metal drummers and new school extreme metal drummers. Lars is perfect for Metallica and still killing it at 60.

@@tragicstatic328 just for you to know.. there's no contradiction on what you write. Triggers are like microphones if you want, so it needs someone playing the drums and hiting the patchs (drumheads) to receive the signal. Of course Lars is playing. You are confusing triggers with "playback".
